Bosses are scattered across the islands of the three seas, almost always tied to a quest, and they drop excellent rewards - it's the best grinding spot in the game.
Raid Bosses, on the other hand, appear at fixed locations and require no quest - some can be summoned by hand (
Darkbeard with the
Fist of Darkness,
rip_indra with a God's
Chalice), while others spawn at intervals depending on the server's age (
Greybeard every 4 to 6 hours,
The Saw every 75 minutes). Here are the strategies that work, boss by boss, with their difficulty ratings.
How to read the difficulty ratings
The Difficulty column uses the star ratings from the Fandom. Three things to know before trusting them:
- They are assigned by experienced players at the level corresponding to the boss, not by a max level player who overpowers everything.
- They deliberately ignore the
Buddha fruit, which would completely skew the scale. - They weight three criteria: damage, stun, and health points.
The source itself acknowledges this - these are just popular opinions, not measurements. And the scale isn't capped at 5; it goes up to 8 for the
Dough King.
Key principles
- Distance is your best friend. The vast majority of bosses are handled by attacking, backing away, and abusing long-range moves.
- Use the environment. Walls, doors, ledges, stairs - many bosses get stuck, won't cross a threshold, or can't jump. Wall Glitch appears very often in Fandom advice.
- Buddha simplifies almost everything thanks to its enormous M1 range, to the point that the community excludes it from the difficulty scale.
- Turn off PvP on major public spawns like rip_indra or Darkbeard - the area is crowded.
- The source's final word, not very subtle but honest - you can follow all this advice, or simply pull out an Awakened Buddha and spam M1.
First Sea
| Boss | Level | Location | Difficulty | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 2 | Climb onto a grass ledge and keep your distance with long-range moves, or wait until his ground smash ends to attack. | ||
| 55 | 2.5 | Climb on the house roof and hit from a distance, or use Wall Glitch. | ||
| 105 | 2 | Climb to the top of a nearby tree and hit from a distance. His ground smash fells trees - switch trees each time. | ||
| 120 | 0.5 | Lure him to the island edge and hit from outside. He respawns every minute - he's the ideal boss for farming | ||
| 130 | 1.5 | Make him exit through the side door then jump off the ledge - he can't jump, he gets stuck. Hit from a distance while moving; he pulls out the [Z] of | ||
| 220 | 2 | He has no special abilities - you can face him head-on without getting too close, or from a nearby tree. Another option is to hit him then run behind the wall of | ||
| 230 | Prison | 2 | Same approach as Warden, but his M1 does much more damage. Wall Glitch recommended. | |
| Swan | 240 | Prison | 3.5 | Attack from a distance and hide behind a wall near the door. He occasionally pulls out the Multi-String Attack, the [X] of |
| Magma Admiral | 350 | 3.5 | Keep your distance to avoid his column attack while dodging his Magma Fist, which widens as it advances - the farther you are, the larger it gets. Moves that push him forward, like | |
| 425 | 4 | Two forms. Like Swan - hit from a distance, exit through the door, hide behind a wall. In his second form, stay at a distance no matter what, or he'll hit you with | ||
| Sky Warlord | 500 | 3.5 | Open from a distance then climb the rocky ledge near his spawn, and finish in melee if you want. Careful though: since Update 30 it's less safe - on top of the | |
| 575 | Skylands | 4 | He uses | |
| 675 | 4 | His projectiles are extremely dangerous and his Fart Strike breaks Instinct - don't get close. Recommended fruits: | ||

A note on Chef: the Fandom says he has the
Blade fruit and is immune to
Swords, but then in the same cell says a sword has a 1 in 3 chance of hitting him. The two statements don't match. Either way, the practical conclusion remains the same - avoid slow M1 swords against him.
Second Sea
| Boss | Level | Location | Difficulty | Tips |

| 925 | 4.5 | When he uses | ||
| 1000 | Don Swan's Manor | 5 | Keep your distance. Pull out your hardest-hitting fruits to kill him quick; stun fruits are highly appreciated here. The moment he launches an attack, Flash Step to get away. | |
| 1150 | 3 | Hit, back out, hide behind walls. A straight fight works too - he's much easier to kill than | ||
| 1400 | 4 | Trap him against the stairway railing or the front wall. Be careful - all his moves break Instinct and deal heavy damage. | ||

Third Sea
| Boss | Level | Location | Difficulty | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1550 | 2 | He uses | ||
| 1675 | 4 | She uses | ||
| 1750 | 4.5 | He respawns every 30 minutes near the top of Great Tree. Long-range attacks or Buddha. | ||
| 1875 | 5 | Never get close, unless you're using Buddha. Otherwise, use only long-range fruits. | ||
| 1950 | Hydra Island | 5 | Keep your distance and dash constantly. When he uses | |
| 2000 | Floating Turtle | 4 | He hits hard and his regeneration is insane - if you die, come back as fast as possible. The reliable method is to stay very far away, hit with long-range attacks, and farm him through the wall, which works with | |
| 2175 | 5.5 | Keep your distance, dash constantly, and dodge with Instinct when she uses |
Worth noting: there's an internal contradiction on the page - Cake Queen is presented as the strongest boss in the game based on her damage and health, yet she's rated 5.5, while the Dough King, rated 8, is described a few lines later as the hardest boss in the game. The Fandom doesn't reconcile these two statements.
Raid Bosses
| Boss | Level | Location | Difficulty | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Saw | 100 | 2 | If you're above his level, face him head-on. If he starts doing real damage, back off. If you're below his level, camp in the air - all his moves are ground-based. | |
| Greybeard | 750 | Marine Fortress | 5 | He uses |
| Darkbeard | 1000 | 5 | He mostly chains short attacks that are easy to dodge. Keep your distance and beware of | |
| 1250 | Hot and Cold | 6 | He has low health but huge mobility, which makes him very hard. | |
| 1350 | 4 | Lure him against a wall and attack from outside. Even so, don't get too close. | ||
| N/A | Near | 0.5 | Send alliance requests to absolutely everyone. Max level makes it easier to do the most damage. At low level, take a long-range, high-damage fruit like Spider. If you don't form an alliance, you can instead get free Bounty by hitting present players. Above 100,000 damage, the fruit is guaranteed. | |
| rip_indra | 5000 | 6.5 | His first form isn't very hard; the whole server rushes it. The second is much more violent - huge damage, very frequent attacks. Turn off your PvP. | |
| 2175 | Cake Island (Sea of Treats) | 7 | Very hard without Buddha. With Buddha, stick to him and use Instinct as soon as possible. Without Buddha, stay at a distance, circle around him until he launches a move, get close for 5 seconds to land your short-range moves, then back off again. | |
| Dough King | 2300 | 8 | Considered the hardest boss in the game - Awakened | |
| 2000 | At sea ( | 5 | Pretty tough. Buddha players are very useful, M1s work on him, as does | |
| N/A | At sea (Sea Events) | 6.5 | Fruits: Magma, Dragon, |
Awakening Bosses (Awakening Raids)
All these bosses are at Level 1100 and are found at the end of their fruit's raid.
| Boss | Raid | Difficulty | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flame Master | 2 | Stay close to him to avoid his Prominence Burst. Doing this makes him soloable - he can only pull Awakened Flame's [Z]. When he uses Awakened [V], activate | |
| Ice Master | Ice | 3 | Fearsome stuns and big knockback, but low damage. Don't jump, he counters Ice's [X]. Don't get close either, he counters [V]. Kept at good distance, he only has [Z], which is weak and easy to dodge. |
| Quake Master | Quake | 4.5 | Camp in the air, come with a group, and he falls easily. |
| Darkness Master | Dark | 3 | Trap him in a wall and attack from outside. Otherwise, use long-range attacks while circling him. |
| Light Master | Light | 3 | Easy boss on his own, but rated Medium because he constantly enters and exits the pyramid. Spam your attacks and you're good. Buddha still recommended, as always. |
| Spider Master | Spider | 4.5 | Warning: the island is small. Kill the Spider NPCs first - if they all stun you at once, things get very bad. Buddha recommended. |
| Rumble Master | Rumble | 4 | Keep your distance; his [X] and [V] are deadly. Stuns are very useful. |
| Magma Master | Magma | 3 | Stay fairly close - his real threat is his [C]. His Magma Shower is weak. If he uses [V], Flash Step to get away. Another equally valid approach: lots of distance, long-range moves, and camping in the air, making the boss very easy. |
| Buddha Master | Buddha | 7 | Extremely difficult. At this point, using Buddha is almost mandatory. Otherwise, stay at the island's edge and use the boat provided by the raid to avoid attacks. Stun moves and constant distance. When he pulls Buddha's [C] or [V], get away as fast as possible. Even Buddha NPCs are a threat. |
| Sand Master | 4 | He can become very hard because of Sand's [V], which drains your health incredibly fast, and stuns on his [X] and [Z]. Do everything to avoid these three attacks. | |
| Dough Master | Dough | 6 | Keep your distance even while using Buddha. First clear the Dough NPCs from range, then go for the boss. The moment your health gets low, flee, heal, return, and attack in short bursts. |
| Phoenix Master | 5 | The boss himself is fairly simple, kind of like Tide Keeper. The real work is killing the Sea Beasts first - they're very annoying during the fight. Still, watch out - Phoenix's [C] and tap hit hard. Having Buddha players on your team helps a lot. |
General rules to know
Rewards. To get a boss's reward, you must have dealt at least 10% of its total damage, which allows multiple players to be rewarded on the same kill. Two exceptions: fruit raid bosses, where the final hit counts, and Longma, where you must have dealt 100% of the damage.
Mastery. The weapon with which you land the final hit determines the Mastery you gain.
Immunities. Bosses ignore Elemental immunities, including raid bosses. However, you can still dodge with Instinct.
Required Aura. Some bosses have an Elemental effect - without Aura, you deal no damage to them. The list: Magma Admiral, Thunder God, Smoke Admiral, Ice Admiral, Awakened Ice Admiral, Darkbeard, Cake Prince, and Dough King.
Respawn. All Second Sea bosses respawn after 20 minutes, except Raid Bosses and Don Swan, who can respawn in 30 minutes. The
Respawn Bosses game pass lets you make them respawn, but it doesn't work on Raid Bosses.
Drops. Some bosses have rare drops. Raid bosses give excellent rewards - full levels and weapon upgrades.
