The Fishman Lord is a level 425 boss who rules the
Underwater City palace in the
First Sea. His distinctive feature is his second form: when his health gets low, he recovers his bar and gains damage and movement speed. He fights using the old
Trident abilities, which he can drop, as well as the
Fish Tail. He's the first boss in the game to have had a second phase, and the only one in the First Sea to do so.
How to get it
In the Underwater City palace (First Sea), in front of the throne. He reappears 8 minutes after death. His quest is given by
King Neptune and unlocks at level 425.

His Two Forms
Unlike most bosses, the Fishman Lord enters a second phase when his health gets low, just like
Don Swan or the
Beautiful Pirate. Here's what changes:
- his damage increases noticeably (from 448.8 to 673.3 in base damage);
- his movement speed increases;
- he recovers his HP, giving him a clear advantage over you.
Keep in mind: this regeneration only works once, he can't reuse it later in the fight.
Visually, the difference is subtle: same outfit, but he loses his green hat, his hair becomes white, and his face hardens.
Useful detail: if you hit hard enough, you can kill him before he even transforms.
What He Drops
- 1,200 Beli and more
- 55,000 to 60,000 EXP
- 10,625
Bounty
Possible drops:
- the Trident
- the Fish Tail
King Neptune's quest, for its part, grants 15,000 Beli and 4,250,000 EXP.
His Attacks
He reuses the old Trident abilities.
| Ability | What It Does | How to Avoid It |
|---|---|---|
| Trident Throw | He throws the Trident at his target, connected to his right hand by a black rope. If it hits you, you take damage and get pulled toward him; if it hits the scenery, he gets pulled toward the Trident instead | Dash often, or use the |
| Water Pulse | He spins the Trident and creates a pull that attracts nearby enemies, then it explodes and sends them flying | Stay far from him |
Instinct is your best friend here: Trident Throw can't break Instinct. Water Pulse, however, is an exception.
How to Beat Him
- The wall method: hit him, then exit the palace to leave him on the other side of the wall. From there, chain long-range area moves or fast melee attacks. Don't use all your techniques at once: as soon as you stop, he regenerates, and he'll eventually teleport to his spawn point.
- The window method: trap him behind a window, position yourself on the ledges outside, and work with M1. Water Pulse doesn't hit very hard, you can take it.
- Instinct remains your best protection against Trident Throw.
- Sometimes he gets stuck underground: he can't touch you then, while you continue hitting him.
Good to Know
- The Fishman Lord was the first boss in the game to have a second form, and remains the only boss in the First Sea to do so.
- The source lists as bosses with second phases the Fishman Lord, Rip_Return, Don Swan, and the Beautiful Pirate, noting that
rip_indra True Form has one too but counts as a raid boss. Small inconsistency to point out: the Behavior section on the same page mentions Don Swan, the Beautiful Pirate, and rip_indra True Form, but forgets Rip_Return. The two lists don't perfectly match. - Second form bug: if someone makes him enter his second form and then lets him heal long enough, he resets while keeping his second form. He recovers his health, but without the associated visual changes.
- He has no Aura: so your
Elemental immunity keeps its value, as long as you stay out of range of his two abilities. - He's been in the game since Update 3.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Second phase that restores his health, increases his damage and speed
- Trident Throw pulls you toward him and breaks your safe distance
- Water Pulse pulls then sends flying, and it passes through Instinct
- His second form regeneration is only usable once
- He lets himself get trapped behind a wall or window of the palace
- Trident Throw doesn't break Instinct
- Killable before transformation if your damage is high enough
Our take
More of a training boss for the First Sea than a grind spot: 10,625 Bounty per kill and a second phase mechanic that prepares you for the bosses ahead.
