Thunder God was a level 575 boss (22,875 HP) perched in the second zone of the
Upper Skylands, in
First Sea, behind the grand temple. He replayed the old skills of the unawakened
Rumble fruit: since it's an
Elemental fruit, your swords, fighting styles and guns did nothing to him without
Aura. He respawned every 10 minutes. He was removed from the game at Update 30 and replaced by the
Lightning God, which explains the past tense throughout this page.
How to get it
He appeared in the second zone of the Upper Skylands (First Sea), at the very end of the island, behind the grand temple. Level 575, 22,875 HP, respawn every 10 minutes.
Since Update 30, he no longer appears: it's the Lightning God who took his place.
What he dropped
- Approximately 520 Beli
- Approximately 94,580 EXP
- 14,375
Bounty/Honor
Possible drops:
Pole (1st Form): 6%
Angel Wings: probability not documented
He wore the
Tomoe Ring on his back, but never dropped it. This accessory is still available for purchase from
Yoshi, in the castle, just next to the
Sky Bandits area.
His attacks
| Attack | What it did | Damage without Aura | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rumble Dragon | He unleashed a lightning dragon that charged straight at his target and exploded on impact. If it hit nothing within a certain radius, it detonated on its own. Broke Instinct on direct hit | 777.1 | Dash continuously around him |
| Sky Thunder | He unleashed enormous lightning that rained down randomly, inflicting heavy damage and briefly stunning | 699.4 on the first hit, then 155.4 per following lightning bolt | Stay at a distance, dash back as soon as he launches the attack and wait for it to end |
How to beat him
Rumble is an Elemental fruit: you needed Aura to hit him with a sword, fighting style or gun. Range and speed made the entire fight, for example with
Light's [Z] move.
- Dash in circles or dodge as soon as he released a move: his attacks were very easy to avoid.
- Keep your
Instinct: tricking him was valuable, especially against Rumble Dragon. - Whatever you do, don't get hit by Sky Thunder: the stun gave him time to land 1 to 3 M1s after.
- He walked 1.25 times faster than a player without
Rabbit, so shaking him off wasn't easy. - The path from the
Skylands respawn point was long. If you died, he had often regenerated all his HP before you returned: it was better to attack from a distance than risk close combat.
The associated quest
As long as he was in the game, the quest that targeted him came from
Sky Quest Giver 2.
| NPC | Required Level | Objective | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sky Quest Giver 2 | 575 | Defeat Thunder God | 20,000 Beli and 8,000,000 EXP |
Good to know
- He was a boss: neither the Elemental passive nor the
Rubber passive protected you from him, like with all bosses in the game. - His spawn zone was considered the largest of all boss arenas, aside from raid bosses.
- Look: brown, white and blue pants, blue ribbon, and the Tomoe Ring attached to his back.
What replaces him
Since Update 30, Thunder God gave way to Lightning God.
His page was just opened on the source, but it only contains one piece of information so far: he's a level 575 boss, exactly Thunder God's level. It's the same pattern as
Wysper, replaced by the Sky Warlord who inherited all his characteristics.
Everything else is unknown: HP, drops, attacks, and it's unclear whether he inherits the spawn location, the Sky Quest Giver 2 quest, or his predecessor's rewards. This page will be completed as soon as the source publishes something.
In the meantime, keep in mind that other pages on the wiki that mention Thunder God describe the state before Update 30.
Our take
A Rumble boss with easy-to-dodge attacks, but one that required Aura: you had to come equipped and play at a distance. He's no longer in the game since Update 30, when Lightning God took his place.
