First Sea

How to get it

No access to unlock: you appear there automatically on your first game, on Pirate Starter Island or Marine Starter Island depending on the team chosen on the home screen. Progression then continues in Second Sea, starting from Lv. 700.

An easy sea, with one catch

• Enemies here are weak, and bounty or honor hunting is rare: you can farm without watching your back too much.
• You have almost nothing to buy or unlock to progress, so managing your resources is simple.
• The catch is Magma Village: enemies there have a chance to spawn with Aura, which cancels the passive of Elemental fruits and makes the place much less comfortable.
• One more caveat: high-level players regularly hang around the First Sea, sometimes just to bother beginners. Keep it in mind.

The Update 30 rework

For years the First Sea kept its original design: blocky buildings, empty interiors, enemies still using old versions of some fruits, swords and guns. The upside was performance, the game running noticeably better here than elsewhere.

Update 30, released on 5 September 2026, redid everything.

• The sea's 16 islands were redesigned.
• Every boss in Sea 1 was refreshed, and each one gains a secret awakened mode.
• NPC dialogues were rewritten, with a new interface.
• The Blox Fruit Gacha moved from the Jungle to Middle Town.
• The sea now holds 40 Island Secrets, which unlock teleporters and 200 levels beyond the 2800 cap.

Island Secrets

Since the rework, the First Sea hides 40 secrets spread across its islands: small puzzles, quests that show up at random, or fights against the awakened versions of the bosses.

What they give you:

• teleporters between islands, unlocked island by island;
• 200 secret levels, the only way past the 2800 cap and up to 3000;
• a world map in the interface, unlocked with your first secret.

The Secrets Master, in the central building of Middle Town, points you to side quests and to the next boss about to spawn.

Good to know

• The Jungle is the busiest place in the First Sea, high-level players included.
• It is the oldest of the three seas, and the one where you run into the fewest cheaters and bounty hunters.
• Since Update 30 the Set Home Point NPCs are gone from the First Sea islands: the Middle Town teleporter replaces them (the sea page and the Middle Town page still list one at Middle Town only). In the First Sea you respawn on your starter island, Pirate Starter or Marine Starter.
• Apart from the rework, the First Sea has had no major update since Update 5.
