Darkbeard: summoning, drops, and strategy

Darkbeard is a Raid Boss Lv. 1000 (305,000 HP) that you summon at the Dark Arena, in Second Sea. His arrival plunges the entire server into darkness with the message "The power of darkness has been unleashed", and he notably drops the Dark Fragment.

How to get it

Get a Fist of Darkness, then go to the center of the Dark Arena (Second Sea) and walk into the altar while holding it. The sky darkens and the entire server is alerted - the boss stays for 15 minutes before despawning. Tip: set your spawn point at Snow Mountain, Kingdom of Rose, or Ice Castle, all close to the arena, or teleport directly with Portal.

How to beat it

It uses the old moves of the unawakened Dark fruit: Dark Rocks, Black Hole, and especially Dark Bomb, an orb that pulls in then explodes for massive damage. Almost all its attacks come from the ground - stay in the air and bombard it from long range. Expect around 5 players from Second Sea or 2 from Third Sea, though solo is still possible by keeping your distance. Buddha excels here (M1 spam is very effective), and Lightning, Spider, or Venom bring damage, stun, and range; for fighting styles, Sanguine Art, Death Step, or Electric Claw work very well.
