Raid Bosses

How it works

• They appear in three ways: summoned with a special item (no cooldown, but these summoning items have a low drop rate), via an NPC's quest (like Dough King), or in certain circumstances. In the first two seas (First Sea and Second Sea), they simply have a very long respawn time.

• They have much more health, defense, and damage than a normal boss, and passives like Elemental Reflex or Blade's Sword Immunity do NOT work against them.
• They drop better rewards (weapons, materials...), use a specific moveset, and some don't give levels.
• If they aren't attacked for a certain amount of time, they despawn and only reappear if someone summons them again.
• At a low level, ask for help from other players or friends: most are very hard to defeat solo.

Special case: the Leviathan

The Leviathan is not fought like the others:

• It has four segments (head/main body included), and the main body takes NO damage as long as all segments are not destroyed. It ignores M1s (except those from certain fruits) and single-target attacks.
• Rewards are only guaranteed if you dealt at least 10% damage to EACH segment; the more you damage a segment, the more scales it gives you. Not enough damage = nothing at all.
• Per segment: approximately 50,000 Beli, 3 to 5 Leviathan Scales, 1 level, 62,500 Bounty/Honor (if your Bounty/Honor is under 2.5 M).
• Main body: approximately 250,000 Beli, 3 to 5 Leviathan Scales, 1,000 Fragments, 5 levels, 2,200 Valor, the Serpent Slayer title and the Leviathan Heart.
• The Leviathan Heart must be harpooned with the Beast Hunter harpoon and brought to Tiki Outpost to be obtained. You can also bring it to the Hydra Island waterfall to freeze the island (Freezing Hydra Island), but in that case you don't keep the heart.

Did you know?

• The game currently has 14 Raid Bosses, and Greybeard is the only one in the First Sea.

• Greybeard, Darkbeard, Order, Cake Prince, Dough King, Tyrant of the Skies and the Unbound Werewolf are the only Raid Bosses to use a Blox Fruit; Tyrant of the Skies and the Unbound Werewolf are the only ones to use a Beast-type fruit.
• Rip Commander holds the record for the highest level among all raid bosses.
• Order's summoning is limited to 5 players. If you enter the lab from outside during the Lab Battle (or if you die during the raid), you can no longer deal damage to it, but you still get the rewards if another player defeats it. And by inserting a Fist of Darkness into the green button next to the blue chamber of the hidden lab, you have a chance to get the Core Brain.

• Each Raid Boss has its system message: "Loud tremors are being heard across the seas..." for Greybeard, "The power of darkness has been unleashed." for Darkbeard, "A shiver runs down your spine..." for the Cursed Captain, "A barrier has been broken." for rip_indra True Form, "An unknown being has entered this world..." for the Soul Reaper, "A dimension has spawned." for Cake Prince or "A dimension worthy of a god has spawned." for Dough King.
• The Factory Raid Core displays a health bar on screen but is NOT a raid boss (no [Raid Boss] tag in its name). The Saw has a system message for appearance but isn't one either (no health bar at the top of the screen). Conversely, the Leviathan doesn't have the [Raid Boss] tag in its name... even though it is one.
