Update 30

Update

Update 30, the overhaul of the First Sea, released on September 5, 2026. It's the biggest rework the First Sea has seen since the game's creation: 17 islands remade, bosses revamped (three renamed, two removed) that all gain a secret awakened version, and 40 Secrets to discover that unlock teleporters and 200 levels above the usual cap. It also brings the Magnet fruit with its event and gacha, a new fighting style named Advanced Combat, a major UI overhaul and a general defense reduction. Four rounds of hotfixes followed, on September 5, 7, 10 and 22, then three isolated fixes, on September 27, October 9 and October 11.

How to get it

Released on September 5, 2026 under the codename Sea 1 Rework. Four rounds of hotfixes followed: September 5, 7, 10 and 22, 2026, then three isolated fixes, on September 27, October 9 and October 11 (details below).

New fruit: Magnet

  • Magnet, Mythic Natural-type fruit, is the 42nd fruit in the game.
  • It costs 6,000,000 Beli or 3,500 Robux from the Blox Fruit Dealer.
  • How it works: collect scrap metal on the ground to fill your Magnetic Power gauge, which grows your metal arms in three stages, then transforms you into a mecha with [V].

New fighting style: Advanced Combat

The notes now name it: Advanced Combat. It is obtained through a secret quest known only to the developers: for now, the style is reserved for the game's staff, and no player can learn it. The source gives neither its moves, nor its requirements, nor a public release date.

The 17 remade islands

The overhaul covers the whole First Sea. The notes list 17 remodeled islands:

Along the way, the Blox Fruit Gacha has moved to Middle Town (it was in the Jungle), and every quest NPC has a new Rumour dialogue option that gives the hint for their island's secret.

Bosses: two removals, three reworks

Removed from the game: the Chief Warden and the Swan, the two secondary bosses of the Prison. The Pink Coat the Swan used to drop is now obtained through the Prison's Mysterious Key secret.

Reworked and renamed (same location, same role):

Our Sky Warlord, Lightning God and Magma General pages describe the new versions; the Wysper, Thunder God and Magma Admiral pages keep the pre-update history.

New boss mechanics:

  • Every boss now has its own theme music, an icon, a health bar and an attack indicator during the fight.
  • Its possible drops are shown beforehand, under its health bar.
  • When you approach a boss, the camera pans toward it and its eyes glow red: impossible to miss.
  • All First Sea bosses have a secret awakened version: how it works is on the Awakened Bosses page, and the island-by-island triggers are on the Island Secrets page.

Island Secrets, the real novelty

The First Sea hosts Secrets: small puzzles, quests that appear randomly, or fights against awakened bosses, to complete for rewards.

  • 40 secrets in total, spread across the remade islands.
  • Each completed secret grants 5 secret levels and raises your level cap and stat cap by 5.
  • NPCs have a Rumour dialogue option: it is the hint for their island's secret.
  • Completing an island's three secrets unlocks a teleporter there. The September 7 fix clarified it: the Middle Town teleporter unlocks island by island, as soon as an island is fully completed.
  • A world map appears in the interface: it helps you navigate between islands and track your Secrets progress. It unlocks as soon as you complete your first secret.

The island-by-island details are on the Island Secrets page.

Secret levels: the cap rises to 3000

Completing secrets grants secret levels, which let you exceed the usual farming cap.

BeforeAfter
Maximum level28003000
Points per stat28003000

The 200 extra levels are scattered throughout the 40 secrets, 5 per secret: 39 are spread across the islands (three per island over 13 islands) and are worth 195 levels, the fortieth grants the last 5.

The 40th secret was published on 22 September 2026. It is called "The Finale", it is on no island, and it triggers at the Middle Town teleporter once every other secret is done: you must select each island in order of its level requirement, without teleporting to them. This is what explains the 2995 wall observed on 18 September 2026 with every island quest done, and why the September 10 fix, which raised the technical wall from 2995 to 3000 and shows "Secret Levels Available!", granted no level by itself. The information is not corroborated elsewhere yet. The full mechanics, and the two possible causes of being stuck at 2995, are on the Secret Levels page.

The Secret Master

A new NPC, the Secret Master (the notes spell it Secrets Master), settles in the central building of Middle Town. He informs you about side quests and, at the end of the hour, about the next boss that will awaken in the First Sea. According to the official notes, he keeps his own special secret.

New quest NPCs

Four quest NPCs arrive with the secrets:

Since 3 October 2026 the patch notes also list three "miscellaneous NPCs": Angel Guard (also filed under quest NPCs), Tavern Owner, the bartender of the Pirate Village tavern, and Janus, the tester at Middle Town.

Remodeled accessories

Six accessories receive a new model:

Only the look changes: the source mentions no change to their bonuses.

Balance: defenses go down

  • All defenses in the game are reduced by 25%.
  • Aura defense is lowered by 15%.
  • Maximum Health is reduced by 10%.
  • Spirit's [X] burn damage was temporarily removed (likely due to a bug), then re-added.
  • Dragon is drawable from the Blox Fruit Gacha again, after a long period where it was nearly impossible to obtain for free.
  • The fishing rod mastery cap is announced as raised, with no value in the patch note. The 600 comes from the source's Fishing Rods page (8 September 2026); on 26 September its item cards went back to "100 (MAX)", on the 27th the page itself went back to 100; on 14 October 2026 it went back to 600 for a few hours (one contributor) before another put it back to 100: the cap stays at 100, see the Fishing Rods page.

In practice, everyone takes more damage than before: in PvP as against bosses, fights are shorter and more punishing.

UI, dealers and quality of life

  • New loading screen and new team selection.
  • Reworked HUD and stats menu.
  • New NPC dialogue interface.
  • Player profile redesigned: new tabs, friend indicators, search.
  • Weapon Dealers let you examine a weapon before buying it.
  • The Luxury Boat Dealer's boats have been moved to the Boat Dealer, who now lets you preview a boat before purchasing it.
  • The Blox Fruit Gacha is now at Middle Town.

The Magnet Event and its gacha

The update launches the Magnet Event and its free Magnet Gacha. The event has been over since 21 September 2026: what follows describes what it offered while it ran. The fruits and items it introduced are still in the game.

The event, every hour. Each run lasts 10 minutes. [Magnetized] enemies appear on all islands in your sea. You recognize them easily: they use the Magnet fruit and scrap metal swirls around them. Their power scales to yours, so it's not free farming.

Each drops between 17 and 25 Magnet Tokens according to the latest reports. The range has already changed three times since release: the Magnet Token page keeps the value up to date.

The Magnet Gacha. It costs 500 Magnet Tokens per spin, once every 2 hours, and this cooldown is shared with the regular Blox Fruit Gacha. It's more generous than the normal gacha: Common fruits cannot come out.

What the gacha gives, according to the notes:

  • a random fruit, excluding Common;
  • 2 profile backgrounds: the Beach Banner and the Vibes Frame Break;
  • 2 limited-time accessories: the Coral Crown and the Shark Cape;
  • a chance at a skinned fruit, drawn from the "Chase Reward" tier.

Its skin box is called the Chromatic Box and comes up on 5% of spins. Recorded contents:

SkinChance
Lime Blade33%
Topaz Diamond25%
Scarlet Ghost22%
Yellow Lightning13%
Starlight Gravity5%
Runic Fiend1%
Arcsteel Magnet1%

Summer 2026 Chromatic Box. The same box is also sold in the in-game shop, under the name Summer 2026 Chromatic Box: it rolls from the same Chase Reward tier, without going through tokens.

Runic FiendFiend (the Yeti mutation)New

Runic Fiend is a special case: it is the skin of a mutation, like the Galaxy Empyrean. All of them are drawn from the Chromatic Box, at the Magnet Gacha or in the shop.

Hotfixes after release

Four rounds of hotfixes followed the release, then three isolated fixes, on September 27, October 9 and October 11, which the notes sum up in one line each. The official notes also add a "various bug fixes" line with no detail.

October 11, 2026

Traps to know about

  • The Saber puzzle is not an Update 30 secret. Two big guide sites present the Jungle's green buttons and the room under the quest giver as novelties: it's the old Saber puzzle, documented since March 2025.
  • "3 secrets per island" only holds for 13 islands. Several sites announced three on every island, i.e. 48, when the official says 40: Pirate Starter, Marine Starter and Jean-Luc Island have no known secret.
  • Some secrets only trigger at the hour change (XX:00) or after an unspecified wait: they look bugged when they're not. Server hopping speeds up every wait.
  • Some secrets only validate for one player per spawn: on a busy server, someone can beat you to it. A private server solves that.
  • The missing levels bug: if an NPC only gave you 2 levels, talk to them again before leaving the game. Since September 7, a cap raised by 5 is caught up anyway with EXP earned elsewhere.
  • Awakened bosses require a preliminary minigame, to clear within 5 minutes, and their stats scale with your level: this is no ordinary boss.

Where discovery of secrets stands

Page updated on September 10, 2026, five days after release.

39 of the 40 secrets are identified and described on the Island Secrets page, island by island, with their triggers and the chat messages that announce them: 13 islands hold three each. The 40th is still unplaced. The Fandom now has a dedicated, complete and reliable Island Secrets page, plus a Secret Levels page.

What remains unclear:

  • According to the Secret Levels page, the actual reachable level was 2995, the 40th secret not having been discovered or possibly being bugged. The September 10 fix raises the technical cap to 3000, but that last secret has not been found: as of 18 September 2026, with every quest done, you remain stuck at 2995.
  • The materials to put in the cauldron for the Awakened Chef, at Pirate Village, are still unpublished.
  • The Advanced Combat fighting style remains staff-only, with no opening date.
