Sea Events

Activity

Sea Events are mini-events that can trigger in all seas whenever a boat is nearby. They range from simple Shark to Ship Raid, passing through Sea Beast, Rough Sea, Treasure Island, or the very rare Mirage Island.

How to get it

You just need to be at sea with a boat nearby: it doesn't need to move, nor do you need to be sitting at the helm. In Third Sea, most events require being at Sea Danger Level 1-6.

Events common to both seas (Ship Raid, Sea Beast...) also exist in Third Sea, but with a significant increase in difficulty.

Spawn Rules

  • All Sea Events can appear day or night, except Kitsune Island which appears with the Blue Moon.
  • Aura and Instinct CHANGE NOTHING about spawn chances.
  • An event can trigger as long as a boat is nearby, even if stationary, and without anyone at the helm.
  • Most marine enemies are immune to M1 or greatly reduce its damage.
  • Killing multiple Piranhas or Sharks from the same spawn counts as ONE Sea Event (5 Sharks killed = 1 event).
  • Multiple Terrorsharks can chain back-to-back.

Second Sea or Third Sea?

  • Farming in Second Sea is not recommended: little variety, low spawn rate, and no Sea Events drop Valor there.
  • Third Sea is THE farming ground: far more events, most at Sea Danger Level 1-6.
  • Sea Events count towards Abyss Tamer and Nautical Bane titles.
  • Rough Sea is part of obtaining Pole (2nd Form), in both seas.
  • Mirage Island is part of the Race Awakening puzzle (Third Sea only).

Farming Tips

  • Recommended fruits: Venom, Magma, Ice, Yeti, Gas, or Awakened Buddha (walks on water or immune to sea). Mammoth and Blizzard are very good too (their held F does great damage), as are Spider and Spirit (big damage), Phoenix (flight - heal), and Pain (big damage - Last Stand).
  • Shark race (V2 or higher) makes you immune to water damage.
  • Avoid boats under 2,000 HP: most Sea Events destroy them easily.
  • Hunt Sea Beasts and Rumbling Waters in groups: it's much simpler as a team.
  • Get at least one player with the Shipwright subclass to repair the boat (each player is limited to 99 Wooden Planks maximum; in large groups, plan for several, since the spawn rate of events increases with player count).
  • Don't look for Mirage Island at Sea Danger Level 6: the distorted and darkened vision makes searching nearly impossible.
  • To avoid having your route to Kitsune Island cut off by an event, park your boat at the edge of Sea Danger Level 6 and wait near a rock, far enough to no longer see the boat's health bar (with Buddha, Ice, Shark race, or anything that lets you stay on water, you can wait without a rock).
  • Against a Terrorshark, kill it quickly to prevent another event from triggering during the fight.
  • The Portal glitch: enter [V] Dimensional Rift (the entire Sea Exploration Group must enter) then leave, and all ongoing Sea Events disappear instantly. Perfect for skipping Rough Sea or Terrorshark. Watch your boat: if someone is sitting in it when entering, the boat follows into the rift (with a teleport height bug on exit), and if no one is sitting in it on exit, it can disappear entirely and you'll need to buy another one. Safest: everyone enters WITHOUT sitting on the boat.
  • Variant of the same glitch: a player who enters the rift then immediately leaves the game lets you disable the fog, for much clearer vision.

Did you know?

  • Multiple Sea Events can coexist, but it's very rare: imagine Mirage Island guarded at once by both Rumbling Waters and Terrorshark.
  • If your boat is destroyed while exploring, the danger gauge disappears from your compass, unless another boat is nearby.
  • Very rarely, Sharks can spawn at Sea Danger Level 0, off the coast of Tiki Outpost.
  • On September 28, 2025, a glitch blocked Sea Event spawns in Second and Third Sea; oddly, only Summon Sea Beast in First Sea still worked.
  • There is a bug with Dragon and Kitsune: if you sit on the boat seat right as you mount an ally's fruit, the boat starts riding the fruit.

Our take

The heart of marine content: farm them in Third Sea with a fruit that walks on water, for titles as well as rewards.
