Renowned for its incredible damage, the Saber can be obtained in the 
First Sea via a puzzle, with a guaranteed 100% drop. Its version 2 remains a quite solid sword in PvP up to the 
Second Sea, but consider upgrading once you reach the 
Third Sea: its moves become nearly useless against opponents who play 
Instinct well.
How to get it
Complete the Saber puzzle then defeat the 
Saber Expert (First Sea): the drop is guaranteed at 100%. The sword can then evolve into Saber V2 by meeting two conditions, achievable in any sea (see below).

Upgrade to Saber V2
Two steps: 1) reach 1 million 
Bounty/Honor; 2) kill a player at a level close to yours (the victim doesn't need to have 1M Bounty). A message confirms the transformation; the move names don't change, only their effects evolve. Warning: a kill deemed suspicious won't trigger the upgrade.

Our take
Essential in the First Sea: the puzzle is well worth the effort for a guaranteed legendary. Upgrade it to V2 as soon as your Bounty allows and use it in PvP until the Second Sea, then switch to a sword that handles Instinct better.
