Mastery measures your experience with a weapon, fighting style, or
Blox Fruit. By leveling it, you unlock the next moves from the object, generally stronger than the previous ones, you deal more damage with it, and you even gain a stat point bonus. Each object has its own Mastery to level.
How to get it
Mastery is mainly earned by defeating enemies.
Bosses give a lot at once upon death, and some
Raid Bosses too (not all).
Cake Queen is the classic boss that gives the most;
Longma is faster to kill and gives more than other bosses with equivalent health.
How it works
- Leveling a weapon's, fighting style's, or fruit's Mastery unlocks its next moves (often more powerful than the previous ones) and increases your damage with it.
- High Mastery also gives a stat point boost: leveling the object that best fits your playstyle is always worthwhile.
- The stat bonus of the selected weapon applies to all types of damage: switching mid-fight to a weapon with higher Mastery increases the damage you deal.
Caps and EXP formula
- Maximum Mastery for a fighting style, fruit, sword, or gun is 600. For
Fishing Rods, the cap is 100: the source's Fishing Rods page said 600 from 8 to 27 September 2026, then went back to 100, as its item cards did the day before; on 14 October 2026 it showed 600 for a few hours (one contributor) before another put it back to 100. The cap stays at 100, details are on the Fishing Rods page. - EXP required for each Mastery level follows the formula:
ceiling(level^2.26 + 69). - Total to reach Mastery 600: 348,679,374 EXP.
- Total to reach Mastery 100 on a
Fishing Rod: 1,006,076 EXP.
Where to farm, sea by sea
Enemies at
Fountain City, particularly
Galley Captains.
- Server hop and defeat the
Awakened Ice Admiral. - Alternative: the
Smoke Admiral through server hopping (not recommended, it's in high demand).
- Longma through server hopping (recommended over Cake Queen, a highly sought boss with longer respawn).
- The
Kilo Admiral at
Great Tree. - The Cake Queen at
Ice Cream Land (Sea of Treats), and
Cookie Crafters at Cake Land.
NPCs at the
Haunted Castle (Buddha Awakening or Quake Awakening recommended, for example by spamming Quake Awakening's [V] from the castle's top).- The fastest method: at Chocolate Land, group
Sweet Thiefs and
Candy Rebels together then chain wide-hitbox moves in the middle of the group (strong-hitting weapon like
Magma or
Buddha,
Lightning [V]...). Perch on the nearby pole to spam safely;
Cyborg V4 recommended. Alternative:
Cocoa Warriors or
Chocolate Bar Battlers.

Boosting your gains
- The
2x Mastery gamepass doubles Mastery earned. Note: 2x EXP does NOT double Mastery, they are two separate boosts. - The maximum possible multiplier is x2.70: 2x Mastery +
Party Hat (or
50b Party Hat) equipped + Efficient enchantment level 4 on your sword or gun.
Things to know
- Server hopping to farm Mastery on bosses remains slower than farming regular enemies: enemy grinding is the most effective method when you need a lot.
- Cake Queen is the boss that drops the most Mastery in the game: approximately 2,200,000 EXP (without 2x Mastery).

Update 17.2 vers 2022 Adjustment
- Reworked the Mastery stat buff formula:
- Instead of gaining 1 point every 3 Mastery levels, the player will gain 1 point every 4 levels and a small % based on their level (up to 10% of their level at 600 Mastery).
- Example: At Player Lv. 2300 and 500 Mastery, the player should have 500/4 + 2300*(500/600)*0.1 = 316 extra points.
