Awakened Bosses

Mechanic

Awakened Bosses are the awakened versions of the First Sea bosses, introduced with Update 30. Every hour, a random boss can awaken on its island, and you first have to complete a small minigame specific to each boss before you can deal it any damage. Beating it counts as an Island Secret (5 Secret Levels and a star) and grants a free roll at the Awakened Boss Gacha, a wheel that appears on screen and whose grand prize is the Royal Nimbus.

How to get it

It is an hourly event, exclusive to the First Sea. Every hour, a boss has a chance to awaken; the boss picked differs from one server to another. According to the source's Awakened Bosses page (rewritten on 16 September 2026), the boss only awakens on the hour if at least one player is nearby; once awakened, any number of players can take part. Since a hotfix on September 27, 2026 (source's Updates/30 page), the secret is no longer credited to those who do not contribute to the fight: hit the boss if you want your 5 levels.

Knowing which one, and where. During the final half hour of every hour (ten minutes until 24 September 2026; the source's three pages have agreed on thirty since 26 September), go talk to the Secrets Master, in the central building of Middle Town (first floor balcony). Its "Which boss stirs next?" option answers: "Keep this between us: the next one to stir will be on [island]. Give it about [x] minute(s). Be standing there when it happens." Since 7 September, the game also adds awakened boss hints.

The source gives two conditions to see this option, without saying whether they stack: having 3 stars on one island of the First Sea (so its three secrets completed), and being at least level 2800. Below that level, only "Tell me a secret" shows up. (The Awakened Bosses page said 2 stars from 18 to 26 September 2026, then dropped the requirement: details below.)

On a private server, leave and rejoin until the Secrets Master announces the boss you want.

The rules of the fight:

  • No damage goes through until the boss's minigame is done. Each boss has its own: breaking geysers, shaking a tree, flicking levers, ringing a bell.
  • You have a 5 minute window to complete that minigame.
  • Once the minigame is done, the boss becomes vulnerable and everyone can hit it.
  • When it dies, every player who dealt enough damage (10% of its max HP) gets a gacha roll.

The 10 documented awakened bosses

The Update 30 notes say that every First Sea boss has a secret awakened version, but the source only describes ten: its Awakened Bosses page, rewritten on 16 September 2026, lists the same ten as its Island Secrets page, with a few walkthrough differences flagged in the table. Neither The Saw, Mob Leader, Saber Expert nor Ice Admiral has a published walkthrough.

IslandBossChat announcementFight trigger
JungleThe Gorilla King"The jungle is suddenly overflowing with bananas..."Shake the big banana tree near the boss with M1; once enough bananas have dropped, the fight starts
Pirate VillageChef"A curious smell is brewing from the Chef's kitchen at Pirate Village."Go into the building behind the Chef, find the cauldron and put the required materials in it to cook a stew. They are randomly chosen each time: the source's Island Secrets page since 28 September 2026, its Awakened Bosses page "may vary" since the 25th (from 14 to 25 September it spoke of a fish and a material). Both pages now place the cauldron behind the Chef; the Island Secrets page said the tavern's upper floor until the 28th. How the game tells you the materials is still undocumented
Frozen VillageYeti"A dark energy awakens..."Find and destroy the three green ice blocks emitting green curse energy with Aura enabled (Awakened Bosses page since 16 September, Island Secrets page since 25 September at least)
Marine FortressVice Admiral"Military weaponry has been unlocked. An alarm has sounded at Marine Fortress!" (Island Secrets and System Messages pages; the Marine Fortress page only keeps the second sentence)The fort cannons start firing: destroy the top half of the center building to stop them (Island Secrets and Marine Fortress pages). Since 16 September the Awakened Bosses page says the opposite: man the cannons near the port yourself and destroy the tower. Check on site
PrisonWarden"A cell creaks open..."Once the boss has spawned in the center building, flick the levers in the rightmost room in the order 2, 3, 4, 1 (numbered left to right, Island Secrets page), that is red, blue, green, blue by colour (Prison and Awakened Bosses pages). From 16 September to 3 October 2026 the Awakened Bosses page gave another version, green, blue, red, blue, then corrected it on 3 October to match the Prison page, adding that it is the same combination as the Second Sea raid room. The two pages finally agree; checking in game is still worthwhile
Magma VillageMagma General"A rumbling echoes out to the sea..."Break the five miniature lava geysers outside the volcano with M1 ("the pressure points around the volcano" on the Awakened Bosses page)
Underwater CityFishman Lord"The water is stirring - the Fishman Lord has risen..."Search the nearby clams until you find the one holding the black pearl, and claim it
Upper SkylandsSky Warlord"A storm brews in the upper skylands..."Attack the dark lightning clouds above the structure it spawns in
Upper SkylandsLightning God"The bell shimmers in upper skylands..."Strike the bell: an icon (gun, sword or melee) pops up, strike it with the matching weapon 6 times in a row, a cutscene starts the fight
Fountain CityCyborg"The junkyard has been magnetized by lightning..."The wires on the ground around Cyborg are damaged: repair them with any attack; the cable sections to fix light up (added by the source on 17 September 2026)

When the boss falls, chat announces it too:

BossCompletion message ("(username)" = the player)
The Gorilla King"(username) brought down the awakened Gorilla King!"
Chef"(username) served the awakened Chef his last meal!"
Yeti"(username) put down the awakened Yeti!"
Vice Admiral"(username) defeated the awakened Vice Admiral!"
Warden"(username) defeated the awakened Warden!"
Magma General"(username) defeated the awakened Magma General!"
Fishman Lord"(username) defeated the awakened Fishman Lord!"
Sky Warlord"(username) toppled the awakened Wysper!"
Lightning God"(username) struck down the awakened Thunder God!"
Cyborg"(username) repaired the junkyard wires and put the Cyborg down!"

You will notice that two completion messages use the old names: Wysper for the Sky Warlord and Thunder God for the Lightning God, both renamed by Update 30. The source does not say whether it is the game or the page that has not caught up.

They have to be unlocked first: 3 stars on one island, according to the Secrets Master page. That is the requirement to see the "Which boss stirs next?" dialogue (the three secrets of a single island). The Awakened Bosses page, which had said 2 stars since 18 September 2026, removed its whole "Unlocking" section on 26 September and no longer gives any requirement. To be safe, clear one island in full before going after them; with only two secrets, give it a try.

This requirement has gone back and forth on the source side. It was there (3 stars), we published it, then the whole section vanished and we pulled it accordingly. On 12 September it came back, in capitals and marked "IMPORTANT". On 18 September a contributor replaced 3 with 2 with the comment "you need 2 stars, not 3". On 26 September the section vanished a second time. Only the Secrets Master page still gives a figure, 3: that is the one we keep, with 2 as the fallback.

The Awakened Boss Gacha

It is the reward system introduced with Update 30 for these fights. It cannot be bought, it is earned.

Requirement: deal at least 10% of the boss's maximum health. Every player who reaches it gets a roll.

Where it happens: nowhere. When the boss dies, a spin wheel appears directly on your screen, cycles through the prizes and lands on yours. There is no NPC to visit and no place to go. One Fandom page places this gacha "in Middle Town" and an earlier version of our Royal Nimbus page put it "at the Prison": both are confusions, it shows up where the boss dies.

The full prize table. Since 21 September 2026 it has its own source page (Awakened Boss Gacha): it was moved out of the Island Secrets page, which no longer carries it.

Five rules to know:

  • This gacha has no cooldown at all (clarified on 21 September 2026). Every awakened boss you beat gives you its roll, with no waiting time in between. It obviously shares its cooldown neither with the Blox Fruit Gacha nor with the Magnet Gacha: it never stops you from spinning either of them.
  • The wheel is purely cosmetic (clarified on 21 September 2026), exactly like the Blox Fruit Gacha one: your prize is already decided when the animation starts. Nothing you do while it spins changes it.
  • 2x EXP boosts stack in duration with each other, and since 21 September 2026 the source states they also stack with regular EXP boosts. Rolling a boost while another one is running wastes nothing.
  • Failing the pre-fight minigame does not cost you the roll: as long as you deal your 10% damage afterwards, you qualify. Someone else can therefore open the fight for you.
  • A small visual cue: when the wheel passes over the Royal Nimbus tile, its border turns from blue to yellow.

Two contradictions between source pages, resolved on 20 September 2026:

  • Beli: until 19 September, the gacha page announced a range of 20,000 to 60,000 Beli while the Island Secrets table gave three fixed prizes. Since its 20 September rewrite, the gacha page gives the same 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 as the table.
  • Fruit Boxes: the gacha page used to describe them as skin crates (fruit cosmetics). Since 20 September it says, like the table, that a box gives a random Blox Fruit according to its own prize pool. A single rewrite so far: check in game.

What changed on 21 September 2026. The gacha page was cleaned up and the prize table was moved into it from Island Secrets. Two things went out of it: the sorting of prizes into four families (common, Fruit Boxes, scrolls, secret), which is gone, and above all the distinction between the two Uncommon Fruit Boxes. The table now says the green one excludes nothing and that only the blue one excludes Common rarity: until then, both were described as excluding Common. This page follows the up to date table.

One unknown remains on this gacha: the source still does not quantify any drop rate, not even the Royal Nimbus one.

What you get on top of the gacha

  • 5 Secret Levels. A defeated awakened boss is an Island Secret like any other: it raises your cap by 5 and grants you 5 levels. Details on the Secret Levels page.
  • A star on the world map. An island's three stars (its three secrets) unlock that island as a destination of the Middle Town teleporter.
  • The 2 level bug applies here too: if the NPC only hands over 2 levels instead of 5, talk to them again until you have the full count, and do not leave the game before. Missing levels can otherwise be made up through regular EXP (Raid Bosses, fishing, quests, certain Sea Events).

By the way: among the steps the community has pieced together to obtain Advanced Combat, there would be 6 awakened bosses to kill using only the Combat style. That obtainment is not verified, see the style's page.

Tips

  • Damage that ignores the boss's level. Cyborg's Energy Core and Draco V3's Flash Step passive deal damage that does not scale with the boss's level: it is the recommended answer for high level players.
  • Missing a specific boss? Each server rolls a different boss: server hop until you land on the one you are after, rather than waiting for hours. On an empty private server, leaving and rejoining is enough.
  • Be on the island before the hour. The Secrets Master tells you where and in how many minutes; the minigame then has to fit within 5 minutes.
  • You do not need to have started the fight yourself: as long as you deal 10% of the damage, the roll is yours.

  7. Update 30 25 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • Awakened Chef: the source's Awakened Bosses page drops the fish mention and goes back to "materials" that "may vary" in the cauldron. The walkthrough no longer names a fish; what goes in remains unknown.

    See update 30

  8. Update 30 20 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • The source's Awakened Boss Gacha page is rewritten and now matches the Island Secrets table: three fixed prizes of 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 Beli (end of the 20,000 to 60,000 range) and Fruit Boxes that give a random Blox Fruit (end of the "skin crates"). It describes the Royal Nimbus as the grand prize with +8% EXP and +8% Mastery, as its own page has since 17 September: the table row now adds the Mastery bonus.

    See update 30

  12. Update 30 16 septembre 2026 Adjustment

    See update 30

  13. Update 30 17 septembre 2026 Adjustment

  14. Update 30 17 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • The source adds an infobox to the page (animated image of the awakened Yeti, Raid Boss type, Update 30) and an image of the awakened Vice Admiral: this entry's thumbnail now shows the awakened Yeti instead of a gacha screenshot.

    See update 30

  15. Update 30 18 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • The Awakened Bosses page lowers the unlock to 2 stars on one island (one contributor: "you need 2 stars, not 3") while the Secrets Master page still says 3: this page gives both figures with the history.

    See update 30

  16. Update 30 21 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • The gacha prize table moves out of the Island Secrets page into a dedicated Awakened Boss Gacha page, cleaned up in the process. Key correction: the green Fruit Box excludes NO rarity, only the blue one excludes Common rarity (both were listed as excluding Common). The source adds that the gacha has no cooldown, that the wheel is purely cosmetic like the Blox Fruit Gacha one (the prize is decided before the animation), that 2x EXP boosts stack with regular EXP boosts, and that the Royal Nimbus tile border turns from blue to yellow. The sorting of prizes into four families is gone from the source.
