Upper Skylands

How to get it

Access is through the Upper Skylands Entrance, a sky island sitting at the very top of the regular Skylands. You get up there by chaining Air Jumps from the Skylands.

Once in front of the entrance temple, two options:

• Go through the small hole in one of the corners, marked with an arrow sign
• Break the cloud layer covering the pit with a Destructible Physics attack

Then jump in.

Known shortcuts: you can also get there without the main entrance, by flying up with a fruit such as Light. The source also lists the Portal [C] as a shortcut. Its Portal page stated from 25 September to 5 October 2026 that the Upper Skylands had left the destination list with Update 30, then removed that line: check your menu before counting on it.

The three areas

Upper Skylands Entrance. A medium-sized, worn-down temple surrounded by grass and a few trees. This is where you meet the God's Guards and the Mole. Inside, a large pit filled with clouds: destroying it opens access to the Upper Skylands.

Access may have changed with Update 30. The source has just flagged its own description of the access as valid only before Update 30, without publishing what replaced it. What it described: reaching the Upper Skylands Entrance from the regular Skylands using Air Jump, then going through a small hole marked with an arrow in one of the corners, or breaking the cloud covering it with a Destructible Physics attack. If that no longer works, that is expected: the new method is not documented yet.

First sub-island. A grassy plateau with a few houses and a few NPCs, including a Set Home Point. A house with a glowing white door sends you back down to the entrance. The Sky Warlord (formerly Wysper), the first boss, is found across the main tree root. Crossing this suspended root leads to the second area.

Second sub-island. Much larger than the first. This is where the Sky Quest Giver 2 hands out quests. The area is again split by huge roots, with a giant bell in the middle section. At the back stands a large temple housing the Instinct Teacher. On the sides of this temple, breakable walls open onto a secret room with eight chests. To the left of the temple lies a giant open area where the Lightning God (formerly Thunder God) spawns.

The island is one of those reworked with Update 30 (Sea 1 Rework): the source changed its illustration image without rewriting this description.

The island page corrected "Wysper" to Sky Warlord on 1 October 2026, but still writes "Thunder God" in this table: that is the Lightning God's old name, replaced in Update 30. Levels and rewards are those of the source.

The island's secrets (Update 30)

Update 30 hid three secrets in the Upper Skylands. Here is the essential, under their official names:

• The Old Temple (called Temple Intel for a few hours on 28 September 2026): talk to the Sky Quest Giver 2 to start the quest. Follow the exclamation mark to the temple door and break it with a move that has destructible physics (the source used to mention a destructible wall left or right of the large staircase). In the center of the room, energy towers surround the item to collect, which the source now calls "intel" ("Relic" before). Get close and interact with each tower, jumping if needed to reach it: turn it to face the next one, until the electric currents form a circle. A cutscene then shows the item moving around the room and into your inventory. Then run back to the quest giver while dodging the lightning and hand the item over.

• Awakened Sky Warlord: when the boss awakens, the chat announces "A storm brews in the upper skylands...". Attack the dark lightning clouds above the structure the Sky Warlord spawns in: the boss sequence starts. End message (the source keeps the old name there): "(your username) toppled the awakened Wysper!".
• Awakened Lightning God: when the boss awakens, the chat announces "The bell shimmers in upper skylands...". Go to the bell and strike it: gun, sword or melee icons pop up on it. Strike the bell with the weapon matching the icon, 6 times in a row: a cutscene starts the boss sequence. End message (the source keeps the old name there): "(your username) struck down the awakened Thunder God!".

Defeating an awakened boss also grants a roll at the Awakened Boss Gacha.

What it brings: 5 secret levels per secret, 15 for the island, and once all three are done, the Upper Skylands become a destination of the Middle Town teleporter (inside the town's central building). If the NPC only gives you 2 levels instead of 5, keep talking to him without leaving the game: it is a known bug.

The eight-chest room

It hides behind the side walls of the large temple in the second area.

Two ways in:

• A Destructible Physics attack, the only thing that actually breaks these walls
• A simple Flash Step through, using the wall glitch

Good to know

• In Update 30, Wysper became the Sky Warlord and the Thunder God became the Lightning God: same locations, same quests. The island page has confirmed it for the Sky Warlord since 1 October 2026; it and some in-game messages still write "Thunder God".
• The Lightning God spawns in the large open area to the left of the temple. The island page still mentions a respawn every 30 minutes and the Rumble and Pole (1st Form) moves: these details date from the old Thunder God, to be reconfirmed for his new version.
• The Sky Warlord waits for you across the large tree root, on the first sub-island.
• Before Update 23, the second quest giver was called "Gan Fall Adventurer". It was renamed Sky Quest Giver 2 for copyright reasons.
• Island soundtrack: Natural Innovation.
• The island comes right after Underwater City and right before Fountain City in the progression.
• The source lists the island for levels 450 to 625, while the last listed quest stops at level 575. It does not explain this gap, so take the 450-625 range as a broad indication rather than an exhaustive quest list.
• September 7, 2026 patch: the player's position on the world map is fixed in the Upper Skylands.

   • The source's Portal page no longer says the Upper Skylands left the World Warp destinations: the line, present since 25 September, was removed on 5 October without explanation. The island page keeps the Portal [C] shortcut; this page lists it again, along with this back-and-forth.

   • The Old Temple secret has been called Temple Intel since 28 September 2026 and its walkthrough is rewritten from the source: door to break with a destructible-physics move, energy towers to turn toward the next one, item ("intel", formerly Relic) to bring back to the quest giver while dodging the lightning. Capture of the towers added.

   • Both bosses are revamped and renamed: Wysper becomes the Sky Warlord, the Thunder God becomes the Lightning God.

   • September 7, 2026 patch: player position on the world map fixed.

   • The Portal [C] shortcut is marked as uncertain: the source's Portal page change history has stated since 25 September 2026 that the Upper Skylands are no longer a World Warp destination since Update 30, while the Upper Skylands page (revision 443321) keeps the shortcut. The entry shows both versions openly.
