Beast is one of three families of
Blox Fruits, alongside
Natural and
Elemental. These fruits transform their wielder into an animal, mythological creature, or divine being, and their abilities stem directly from the form taken. They are chosen for their transformation, mobility, and combat presence - they are often the best fruits for traveling. Pay attention to the count: the source contradicts itself - its introduction announces 12 Beast fruits, while one of its notes counts 9, behind Elemental (11) and Natural (22). Our catalog lists 12, detailed below.
How to get it
Like all fruits: from the
Blox Fruit Dealer, at Blox Fruit Gacha, as a permanent version for Robux, or by picking up a fruit that appears on the map. There are currently no Beast fruits of
Common or
Rare rarity, so none are truly free -
Eagle is the cheapest and least rare of the family,
Dragon the most expensive (15,000,000 Beli), making it also the most expensive fruit in the game across all types.
Beast Fruits
Mutations
The three mutations in the game,
Werewolf,
Empyrean, and
Fiend, are all Beast type and all tied to an event. They are modified versions of a fruit that change its appearance, moveset, and playstyle.
Since Update 29, only three fruits have one:
| Fruit | Mutation |
|---|---|
| Tiger | Werewolf |
| Kitsune | Empyrean |
| Yeti | Fiend |
What transformations provide
Depending on the fruit, the transformation provides defense, mobility, or healing. These three effects greatly help with taking damage during raids, and many Beast fruits strongly reduce damage taken while the form is active.
- Dragon transforms and improves all its moves, with very large hit zones.
- Buddha has enormous melee range and, once awakened, allows you to do raids almost alone with the right build and stats.
- Phoenix has very useful healing in raids.
- Mammoth, when transformed, can deal damage without interruption.
- Tiger and a few others give a speed bonus.
- Yeti creates ice platforms for the team, valuable during
Sea Events. - Eagle lets you keep your weapon in hand while flying, useful for aerial combat.
The family's rules
- Weapons during transformation: most Beast fruits prevent you from using your
Fighting Styles,
Swords, and
Guns once transformed. Only exceptions are Buddha and Dragon in hybrid form. Eagle technically doesn't have a transformation, but keeps its weapons while flying. - Full transformation: all Beast fruits have one, except Eagle, which the game considers flying mode as its transformation.
- Buddha: the only Beast fruit that must stay transformed to use its moves, and the only one that doesn't change into an animal but into a mythical being.
Awakening: only two Beast fruits can be awakened, Phoenix and Buddha.- M1: eight Beast fruits have a left-click attack, namely Dragon, Kitsune, Yeti, Tiger, T-Rex, Mammoth, Eagle, and awakened Phoenix.
- Two transformations: since Update 28, Dragon (Western and Eastern) and Tiger (Blazing Form) are the only Beast fruits that have two.
Transformation name: awakened Buddha, Phoenix, T-Rex, and Dragon are the only Beast fruits whose transformation move isn't simply called "Transformation".
Skins: since
Update 29, only Eagle, Dragon, and Kitsune's Empyrean mutation have usable skins.
Good to know
Venom,
Rubber, and
Diamond may have a transformation, but they remain classified as Natural. Gas is classified as Elemental for the same reason - transformation alone isn't enough to make a Beast fruit.
Spider isn't a Beast fruit despite its name change - it remained Natural because it controls threads rather than transforming its wielder into a spider (it was the old String).- Eagle and Tiger are the only two Beast fruits inspired by a real, current animal - all the others come from a mythical creature or a slightly modified extinct animal.
- Mammoth and T-Rex cost the same and have the same permanent value. Tiger and Yeti now share these same values.
- Curiosity reported by the source: if you activate
Aura under a Beast transformation (except Buddha and Eagle) and then leave the form, you lose the Aura's glow effect but keep its bonuses, and the glow returns if you draw a Sword or Gun. The source states it only tested this with T-Rex, that it doesn't work with Buddha, and knows nothing about the others.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Excellent for traveling, often the best fruits in the game for moving around
- Very useful transformations in raids: defense, mobility, or healing depending on the fruit
- Large hit zones on several fruits
- Strong reduction of damage taken during transformation, on many fruits of the family
- Buddha and Dragon in hybrid form keep access to Fighting Styles, Swords, and Guns
- Dependent on transformation, which costs energy
- No cheap Beast fruits: the family has no Common or Rare rarity
- Most transformations cut off your access to Fighting Styles, Swords, and Guns
- Only two fruits of the family, Phoenix and Buddha, can be awakened
