Accessories

Mechanic

Accessories are one of the major power levers in the game: they are equipment items that give stat bonuses (damage, health, energy, speed, cooldowns...). You can only wear one at a time, so the right choice depends entirely on your build. In PvP, a good accessory is considered essential.

How to get it

You equip them from your inventory, one at a time, and they can be found in all three seas. The game has 87 in total, of which 23 are unavailable or reserved for certain events. To see the exact bonuses of the one you're wearing, talk to the Nerd or check your inventory. This mechanic has existed since January 16, 2019.

How to obtain them

There is no single source, but six main ways to get your hands on an accessory:

  • Buy it from an NPC (for example the Santa Hat).
  • Kill another player by meeting certain conditions (for example Usoap's Hat).
  • Complete a quest (for example the Colosseum Quest).
  • Defeat a boss and collect their drop (for example the Coat).

  • Reach a certain stat level to have the right to buy it (for example the Tomoe Ring).
  • Craft it with materials (for example the Terror Jaw).

Good to know

  • No accessory applies a penalty: there's only bonus to gain.
  • The Party Hat is the only one that boosts XP, very useful at the start and middle of the game or when you're grinding Mastery.
  • The Dragon Mantle is the only one that grants extra air jumps.
  • Holiday Cloak, Cupid's Coat, Kitsune Mask, Kitsune Ribbon, Sanguine Cloak and Divine Cloak are the only animated accessories.
  • Seasonal accessories can return during annual event rotations, but nothing guarantees it.
  • On console, accessories appear by their name in the hotbar: equipping them from there does nothing, you're just holding empty air.
  • If the game bugs and you try to wear two at once, a message appears: "Cannot hold multiple <Wear> types at once."

Accessories reserved for admins

Four accessories cannot be obtained normally.

  • Uzoth's Cloak, Wyvern Helmet and Dragon Mantle are currently reserved for admins, but this could change in a future update.
  • The D.S. Coat, on the other hand, will not become obtainable: it had been given to members of the Diamond Syndicate crew, then taken away from that group for abuse of privileges. Only Blox Fruits staff members still own it.
