Alliances - playing without friendly fire

The alliance system prevents two allied players from hurting each other and their ships. Useful for farming, raiding, or navigating together without friendly fire. Pirates manage their alliances manually, Marines are allied with each other by default.

How to get it

Use the Ally button, near the home point button, to request, accept, or remove an alliance with other Pirates. For Marines, the button doesn't appear - alliances between Marines are automatic.

How it works

Two allied players can no longer deal damage to each other or damage their respective ships. With Instinct activated, your allies appear surrounded by a green halo. A Marine cannot ally with a Pirate. In a crew, all members are automatically allied - even if you remove an alliance with a member, it reactivates when they die. Joining a raid with someone automatically allies you as well, including a Pirate + Marine duo through this means (whereas Marines normally don't have access to the menu).
