Lightning God is the level 575 boss that replaced the
Thunder God at
Upper Skylands in Update 30. Its stats are now published, and they are identical to its predecessor's: 22,875 health, a 10 minute respawn, the same
Sky Quest Giver 2 quest, the same drops. What changed is its appearance and its moveset: it combines
Pole (1st Form) and
Lightning abilities.
How to get it
It is found in the second area of Upper Skylands, in the
First Sea, at the end of the island beside the big temple, exactly where the Thunder God stood.
It respawns every 10 minutes.
What it drops
- ~520 Beli
- ~94 580 EXP
- 14 375
Bounty/Honor - Pole (1st Form) (6%)
Angel Wings

The quest and what it pays
The quest is taken from Sky Quest Giver 2, at level 575.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Quest Beli | 20,000 |
| Quest EXP | 8,000,000 |
| Beli dropped | ~520 |

Possible drops: the Pole (1st Form) at 6%, and Angel Wings.
Worth noting: it wears the
Tomoe Ring on its back, but it does not drop it.
Its three attacks
| Attack | Description | Damage without Aura | How to avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lightning Orb | It creates an electrified sphere and throws it at you: it pulls you in before exploding. The explosion breaks | 777.1 | Dash in a circle, continuously. |
| Thunderstorm | A modified version of Lightning's [X]: massive bolts rain down, dealing heavy damage and stunning anyone caught. | 699.4 on the first hit, 155.4 after | Stay away, and as soon as it starts, dash back and wait it out. |
| Lightning Rain | Pole (1st Form)'s [X]: a small cloud rains three bolts that stun. | not published | Move out of the cloud's area. |
How to beat it
You need Aura. It uses the Lightning fruit (formerly Rumble, since renamed), which is
Elemental: without Aura, your sword, fighting style and gun do nothing to it.
- Range and speed are everything. Long-ranged moves such as
Light's [Z] work best: hit, then move the moment it starts anything. - Its attacks are easy to dodge once you know them. Against Thunderstorm, simply leave the area.
- By this level you normally have Instinct: tricking works well on it, especially against Lightning Dragon (formerly Rumble Dragon).
What changed from the Thunder God
The Thunder God was removed from the game in Update 30 and replaced by the Lightning God. The swap is stat for stat: same level, same location, same health, same respawn, same quest and same drops.
What changed:
- its appearance: black, white and yellow pants, a blue ribbon, the Tomoe Ring on its back;
- its moveset, now mixing Pole (1st Form) and Lightning.
Same pattern as
Wysper, replaced by the Sky Warlord.
Other wiki pages that still mention the Thunder God describe the game before Update 30.
It shows up in an island secret
Picking up the relic from the Upper Skylands temple makes you its target: you have to run to the quest giver without lingering. The details are on the
Island Secrets page.
Watch out for its awakened form. Once awakened it gains Lightning's [V], Thunderball Destruction, and that move can take half your health in one hit. Even as an endgame player, keep your distance when it casts that one.
