Wysper

Boss

Wysper was the Level 500 boss of the first zone of the Upper Skylands in First Sea: 17,500 HP, no Aura, and respawn every 10 minutes. He was the only boss in the game to attack with a firearm, pulling out the Bazooka to fire explosive rockets. He was removed from the game at Update 30 and replaced by the Sky Warlord, which explains the past tense throughout this page.

How to get it

He appeared in the first zone of the Upper Skylands (First Sea). Level 500, 17,500 HP, no Aura, respawn every 10 minutes.

The NPC Mole gave the quest targeting him: Level 500 required, 15,000 Beli and 5,700,000 EXP as rewards.

Since Update 30, he no longer appears: the Sky Warlord now occupies the location.

What he dropped

  • Approximately 450 Beli
  • Approximately 70,000 EXP
  • 12,500 Bounty/Honor

Possible drops, not guaranteed:

His attack

Wysper used the old Bazooka M1 and nothing else.

AttackWhat it doesHow to avoid it
Bazooka (M1)He pulled out the Bazooka and fired a rocket that explodes on contact with a player or surface, dealing area damage. The damage varies depending on whether the rocket hits you directly or only on the edges. The projectile itself can be dodged, but the explosion breaks Instinct: don't rely on it if you're in the blast radius.

How to defeat him

  • The rock trick: position yourself on the high part of the rock and leave Wysper stuck below. His rockets would crash into the cliff without ever reaching you.
  • Read his movements: you had to attack continuously, and as soon as he stopped, move away. This pause signaled the Bazooka, whose shot broke Instinct.
  • Freezing: the [F] from Blizzard completely locked him down. He couldn't do anything and would eventually fall on his own.
  • Stay airborne: with a flying fruit, you kept altitude and could see where the rocket would land, making it easy to dodge.

Good to know

  • Wysper was the only boss in the game to attack with a gun.
  • Along with the Hydra Leader and the Magma Admiral, he was one of only three bosses (excluding the Core) to drop a firearm.
  • His Bazooka M1 sometimes produces two explosions at once: one with the effects from before the rework, the other with effects from after.
  • Level neighbors: Shanda just before, Royal Squad just after.
  • He was in the game since Update 3.

What replaces him

Since Update 30 and the First Sea overhaul, Wysper was replaced by the Sky Warlord in the same location.

The replacement takes everything from him: Level 500, 17,500 HP, respawn every 10 minutes, Mole's quest, and the same drops, including Bazooka and Angel Wings. It even keeps its place in the enemy progression.

What really changes are the attacks. Wysper had only the Bazooka shot; the Sky Warlord adds Heat Wave, a fiery beam that pushes back and leaves a trail of fire, and Flaring Missiles, a volley of five missiles. The old tactics of taking cover behind terrain no longer work.

Our take

A tricky Bazooka boss whose rocket could almost one-shot. The safe method was to camp the rock, otherwise to move on. He hasn't been in the game since Update 30.
