How to get it

By boat, after Pirate Village. From the docks, one path leads to the Desert Bandits village; the other goes past a dilapidated house and a pyramid, then a bridge leads to the Desert Officers houses.

What you can find there

• Desert Bandit and Desert Officer (enemies Lv. 60-90)
• Hasan and the Desert Adventurer (NPC), plus a Boat Dealer and Home Points
• Desert Merchant (new Update 30 NPC): under a wooden stall near the Desert Bandits. He is the one who gives and validates two of the island's three secrets (Save Hasan and Prickly Harvest); the third, Rune Cleanup, is turned in to the Desert Adventurer.
• A Silver Chest in front of the pyramid, with a secret passage underneath leading to Hasan and his Swordsman Hat

Island Secrets (Update 30)

Like every island reworked by Update 30, the Desert hides three secrets: two are turned in to the Desert Merchant, the third to the Desert Adventurer. The quest giver's Rumor dialogue option gives you the clue to the current secret.

Save Hasan. Walk over the Silver Chest near the large pyramid: you drop into a secret passageway leading inside (the source described a patch of dark sand to phase through until 28 September 2026). At the end of the small tunnel, Hasan is being attacked by a skeleton. Defeat it, then the three others that emerge from the tombs one at a time (four in total), and talk to Hasan. Then speak to the Desert Merchant to complete it (the source's Island Secrets and Desert pages have agreed since 28 September 2026).

Rune Cleanup. The source has called it that since 28 September 2026 ("Clean the Runes" before). Next to the pyramid ("near the right of the temple", says the secrets page), a black stone circle is buried under the sand: eight monoliths to dust off with your melee or sword M1. Once they are all cleared, the stones rise and begin rotating, a platform rises beneath you and a cutscene plays. Then return to the Desert Adventurer: he is the one handing over the reward according to the source's Island Secrets and Desert pages, not the Desert Merchant as we wrote.

Prickly Harvest. After a few hours in a server (server hopping works too), the cacti start blooming. Talk to the Desert Merchant, accept his quest and collect 10 Cactus Petals by hitting the blooming cacti with M1s. As a reward, he gives you a Refreshing Drink: a small strength boost, your character gets slightly bigger and the screen takes a pink tint with a spiral effect.

What you get. Each secret is worth 5 secret levels, so 15 for the island (the Desert Merchant page counts 10 for the two quests it presents as his own, Save Hasan and Prickly Harvest). Once all three are done, the Desert becomes a destination of the Middle Town teleporter, inside the central building. The full step-by-step walkthrough is on the Island Secrets page.

Good to know

• Saber Expert Puzzle: in the collapsed house, burn the curtains with the torch retrieved in Jungle, read the riddle, take the cup and head to Frozen Village.
• The island is almost entirely covered in sand: follow the paths and courtyards to not miss anything.
• It is the only desert-themed island in the game, and the Light raid islands are based on it.
• The island's theme is called The Endless Desert.

1. Update 30 28 septembre 2026 Adjustment ▾

   • The Clean the Runes secret has been called Rune Cleanup since 28 September 2026 and is turned in to the Desert Adventurer, not the Desert Merchant (source's Island Secrets and Desert pages). Save Hasan: you drop into the secret passage by walking over the Silver Chest. Two captures added: the entrance under the chest and the sand-covered runes.

2. Update 30 5 septembre 2026 Buff ▾

   • Island reworked with the First Sea Rework, new image.
   • New NPC: the Desert Merchant, under a wooden stall near the Desert Bandits.
   • Three island secrets added: Save Hasan, Clean the Runes and Prickly Harvest (5 secret levels each). Prickly Harvest also grants the Refreshing Drink.
   • The model of the Swordsman Hat sold by Hasan has been redone.
