Fishing Rods

Mechanic

Fishing rods are the basic tool of fishing. They range from the Common rod offered by the Fisherman to a Mythical reserved for administrators, passing through rods crafted at the Angler in exchange for Beli or Fragments. A better rod means more recoverable Sunken Chests and better catches.

How to get it

The first rod is offered by the Fisherman in the First Sea. The following ones are crafted at the Angler in exchange for Beli or Fragments, provided you have enough Trust. Two Legendary rods come from the Celestial Fisherman and the Oni Fisherman in the Celestial Domain and Oni Realm.

Key points

  • A better rod increases the number of fishable Sunken Chests: 3 per day with a normal rod, 6 with the Treasure Rod, and 3 more if your rod carries the Blessing of an Angler's Treasure enchantment. Details are on the Sunken Chest page.
  • Fishing immobilizes you until you switch to another gear or catch and store a fish.
  • Fishing with multiple players at the same spot gives a chance bonus: 2.5% per player, up to 15%.
  • A rod's Mastery cap is 100. The source had announced 600 with Update 30 (Fishing Rods page, 8 September 2026), then went back to 100 everywhere: item cards set back to "100 (MAX)" on 26 September, Fishing Rods page back to 100 on the 27th. On 14 October 2026 that page went back to 600 for a few hours (one contributor, no edit summary) before another contributor undid the change the same morning: the source says 100 everywhere again, and its Mastery page gives 1,006,076 EXP to reach it. Equip your best rod: without it in hand you can't craft the next one, and once the next one is unlocked you can switch back.
  • The higher a rod's Mastery, the better your control in the fishing minigame, and the progress bar fills up a little faster.

Enchantments

Rods can be enchanted at the Dragon Talon Sage with a scroll:

  • Baitless Catch: 2% per level chance of not consuming bait.
  • Experience Sharing: share 5% per level of fishing experience with nearby players without losing any yourself.
  • Fish Scanner: increases the final chance factor by 2% per level.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • More Sunken Chests with a good rod
  • Enchantable at Dragon Talon Sage
  • Chance bonus when fishing with multiple players
  • Immobilize during fishing
  • The best ones require a lot of Trust and Fragments

Update history

Mechanic : Fishing Rods

  1. Update 30 14 octobre 2026 Adjustment
    • Mastery cap: the source's Fishing Rods page went back to 600 on 14 October 2026 (one contributor, no summary), then another contributor undid the change a few hours later: the page says 100 again, like the Mastery page (1,006,076 EXP to reach it). This entry keeps 100 and gives the history.

    See update 30

  2. Update 30 27 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • Mastery cap: 100 confirmed. All the source's pages have agreed since 27 September 2026 and have not moved since; the entry no longer presents the figure as unsettled.

    See update 30

  3. Update 30 5 septembre 2026 Buff
    • Fishing rod Mastery cap announced as raised by the patch note, with no figure. The source's Fishing Rods page showed 600 from 8 to 27 September 2026 before going back to 100, like its item cards and its Mastery page: the cap stays at 100.

    See update 30

  4. Update 30 20 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • Added a point: a rod's Mastery improves control in the fishing minigame and makes the progress bar fill up a little faster. The sentence has been on the source's Fishing Rods page since at least 25 July 2026 and has not changed since (last revision of 8 September 2026).

  5. Update 30 27 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • Mastery cap: the source's Fishing Rods page went back from 600 to 100 on 27 September 2026 (one contributor), a day after its item cards. The source now says 100 everywhere; the entry no longer picks between 100 and 600 and gives the history.

    See update 30

  6. Update 30 26 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • Sunken Chest limit corrected: the entry said "5 per rod". The source's Fishing Rods page replaced its ambiguous sentence with "5 chests daily" on 26 September 2026, but the Sunken Chest page (revision 445614, figures stable since June 2026) gives 3 chests per 24 h, 6 with the Treasure Rod and 3 more with the Blessing of an Angler's Treasure: the entry follows the dedicated page. Detail taken from the same revision: immobilization lasts until you switch gear or store a catch.

    See update 30

  7. Update 30 26 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • Mastery cap: the doubt is now stated. The source's template maintainer put the "100 (MAX)" mark back on rods on 26 September 2026 ("mastery cap of 100 again"), one week after removing it; the Fishing Rods page rejected a change to 100 on 23 September and has said "600 on the best rod" since the 26th; the Mastery page says 100 but has not been edited since Update 30. The entry keeps 600 and flags the contradiction.
