The Black Cape is the go-to accessory at the start of the game: +5% damage on all your attacks, plus 100
Health and 100
Energy. It costs 50,000 Beli from
Parlus at
Marine Fortress, and only requires level 50. Its in-game description sums up the character well: "A regular cape, more grey than black. Strengthens the wearer."
How to get it
Bought for 50,000 Beli from Parlus at Marine Fortress (
First Sea). He stands in the watchtower on the right side of the island, the one topped by a silver chest. Minimum level 50.
Equipment bonuses
- +5% Damage
- 100 Health
- 100 Energy
What it provides
- +5% damage on any attack, no exceptions based on build.
- +100 Health.
- +100 Energy.
The Fandom recommends getting it as early as possible: on the scale of the First Sea, these bonuses are very strong for the price asked.
Its place in progression
- It's one of the easiest accessories to obtain in the game: no drops, no quests, you just need the money and level 50.
- The source ranks it among the best accessories of the First Sea, behind
Cool Shades which holds first place. - In the
Second Sea, the
Black Spikey Coat is considered its direct successor: same role, better stats. - The game itself acknowledges this detail: despite its name, the cape is so light you'd rather call it grey.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Cheap and reliable for a low-level player
- Compatible with absolutely every build
- Universal damage bonus, it applies to any attack
- One of the best possible choices for a beginner
- Locked until level 50
- No movement speed bonus, though that matters little while you're in the First Sea
Our take
One of the best purchases for a new player: get it at level 50 and keep it until the Second Sea, where the Black Spikey Coat comes to replace it. In the First Sea, only Cool Shades does better.
