Bones are an
Uncommon material that also serves as currency. They drop from the undead at
Haunted Castle in the
Third Sea, and are used for three main purposes: crafting
Skull Guitar, weapon upgrades, and the
Death King's exchange system (random surprises, stats reset, race reroll, titles). You can't hold more than 5,000 in your inventory.
How to get it
Farm the undead at Haunted Castle in the Third Sea - it's by far the main source. You can also try the 'Try Your Luck' option at
Gravestone at night, which can get you 20 Bones in one go.

Three farming methods recommended by the Fandom: - With
Dragon, position yourself in front of the main building at Haunted Castle and chain the three attack abilities in transformed form: you hit both Demonic Souls and Possessed Mummies at once. - With
Buddha, you collect Bones while leveling up your sword mastery or combat style. - With
Quake, level the fruit to 220 mastery and use the double tsunami, awakened or not.
During the Ghost Event,
Evil Wraith and
Bone Wraith also dropped Bones.
Crafting and Upgrades
- Skull Guitar: 1
Dark Fragment, 500 Bones, 250
Ectoplasm, and 5,000
Fragments. - Bones are also used to upgrade weapons. On this page, the Fandom refers to its upgrade list without detailing the costs.
- According to the Fandom, you need 1,300 Bones total to craft and upgrade everything that requires them. This number doesn't include exchanges or titles.

Halloween Events, the table changes: Golden Sunhat, Bear Ears, and Fire Essence disappear, and a random
Blox Fruit is added with an 8% chance.
Also during these events, Death King offers two additional services: -
Stats Refund for 150 Bones: resets your stat points, like
Plokster does. -
Race Reroll for 300 Bones: changes your race randomly, like the Tort NPC does.
Note: if you draw 10 minutes of x2 EXP, they activate immediately. They don't stack in your inventory.

| Undead Lord | 500 Bones |
| Death King | 2,000 Bones |

Tips
- Possessed Mummy drops a lot of Bones, but Soul Reaper gives the most by far.
- Historically, Bones also dropped from
First Sea enemies. They were removed in Update 17.1, then reintroduced only for Evil Wraith and Bone Wraith. The page contradicts itself on when this happened: its trivia mentions Update 20, while its Events section ties these two enemies to the Ghost Event in Update 21. - The material's icon contains a tooth.
Inventory cap: 5,000 Bones.
Material introduced in Update 16.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Guaranteed massive drop from Soul Reaper: 41 to 43 Bones per kill
- Only one spot to know, Haunted Castle, with seven enemies that drop it
- Versatile currency: crafting, weapon upgrades, stats reset, race reroll, and titles
- Inventory cap of 5,000
Stats reset, race reroll, and Undead Lord and Death King titles are only available during Halloween Events- Drops from enemies other than Soul Reaper are low and capped at a 33% drop rate
