Dark Coat: bonuses and how to obtain

The Dark Coat is Darkbeard's signature coat: +15% Blox Fruit damage, +600 Energy and +600 Health. It's the very first Mythical accessory released in Blox Fruits, arriving with update 8, and it remains to this day one of the strongest in the Second Sea for a player who relies on their fruit. Its in-game description sums up the idea well: "Coated with the power of darkness, it channels some of the user's hidden potential."

How to get it

It drops by defeating Darkbeard in the Dark Arena (Second Sea). The source ranks it among very difficult accessories to obtain: expect multiple runs against the boss.

Equipment bonuses

+15% Blox Fruit damage +600 Energy +600 Health

The Wicked Captain title

Equipping the Dark Coat gives you the Wicked Captain title (#127). Simply wearing it is enough, no additional conditions.

Good to know

First Mythical accessory ever added to the game, released with update 8.
Along with the Leviathan Shield and Royal Nimbus, it's one of only three Mythical accessories that are neither event-exclusive nor admin-exclusive.
Its Mythical rarity doesn't mean everything: several Legendary accessories are more effective than it.
Its icon is used as the symbol for the 2x Boss Drop Chance gamepass.

Strengths and weaknesses

One of the best choices for a player who relies on their fruit: +15% Blox Fruit damage
Great buffer for survival and sustainability with +600 Health and +600 Energy
Remains one of the most powerful accessories in the Second Sea
One of only three Mythical accessories obtainable outside of events and outside of admin, along with the Leviathan Shield and Royal Nimbus

Very difficult to obtain: you need to defeat Darkbeard in the Dark Arena
No benefit if you play primarily Sword or Gun
Outclassed by many accessories once in the Third Sea, including several Legendary ones despite its Mythical rarity

Our take

A must for fruit mains in the Second Sea; useless for sword and gun mains.
