Enchantments are effects you apply to your swords, guns, and fishing rods using Scrolls with the Dragon Talon Sage. There are four families: tiered normal enchantments, Uniques reserved for weapons, Blessings, and Curses, the latter two adding a visual effect in addition to their effects. Fishing rods also have their own Skills, which replace [Z], and a passive Ability. The system is available in all seas since Update 20.
How to get it
You use Scrolls on a weapon or fishing rod with the Dragon Talon Sage. A Legendary Scroll gives a 3% chance of Blessing, a Mythical Scroll gives 10%. Curses have an even lower chance, which Fandom doesn't specify. Uniques are rarer than normal enchantments but less rare than Blessings and Curses, and they count toward the enchantment level of the scroll.
Ignores 6%, 12%, 18% then 24% of defensive buffs from items, fruits and races
Sharp
1 to 6
+3% to +18% damage on NPC, in 3% increments
Siphon
1 to 3
Recovers 4%, 6% then 10% of damage dealt as energy
Vampiric
1 to 3
Heals you for 4%, 6% then 10% of damage dealt
Note: Fandom's table reserves six rows for Beast, Elemental and Natural but only details five. If a sixth level exists for these three, it is not documented.

What Fandom says
Masterpiece
Skills no longer cost energy, +5% damage, -8% cooldown
The all-rounder, with no real weakness
Rage
Increases your movement speed with each hit landed, duration depends on base damage
Excellent on support or stun weapons like the Skull Guitar: even at 0 stat, the speed gain is huge
Sharpshooter
+10% damage, but +20% cooldowns
Very effective with Ghoul, whose cooldown reductions offset the penalty. Good on high-burst weapons like the Bisento or True Triple Katana, even if there's better options
Strong Grip
Damage scales on 40% Melee and 60% Sword or Gun
Weapons hit hard in support mode with just Melee stats. Perfect for hybrid builds, and the best choice for fruit users who want to scrape damage in combos
Unbreakable
Your held skills cannot be interrupted for 2 seconds
Serves to break combos and set unexpected traps. Beware, the effect isn't active on the very first frames. Very good on Cursed Dual Katana or Shark Anchor
Unreal
-20% cooldowns, but -15% damage
Recommended on spammable support swords like Shark Anchor and Dragonheart
20% chance materials aren't consumed when crafting bait
Curses
Curses drop with a Legendary Scroll or Mythical Scroll, but their chance is even lower than Blessings. They also add a visual effect.

Clarifications
Curse of the Reaper
Your life regeneration speed is halved, but you steal life at 70% against players and 23% against NPC
The heal on NPC is worth about a third of that on players. Effects stack on two equipped weapons
Curse of the Thief
Enemies become more hostile and target you even without you dealing damage
XP x2.5 on XP and Mastery, money x1.5, targeting radius of approximately 18 m, and you take +25% damage. No effect on Raid Bosses, raid or dungeon NPC and some Sea Events: since 30 September 2026 the source states that some Sea Events are still affected, without saying which
The visual effect of the Curse of the Thief, making enemies more hostile toward you
Spy condition added by the source on 13 October 2026 (a Fandom content moderator): it matches the Frozen Dimension page, where bribing the Spy raises the spawn chance. Description rewritten by the source on 18 September 2026 (one contributor, no further detail). From 9 August to 18 September it said that only whoever triggered it could face the boss, solo, and deemed the curse of little interest, catching a Levi being already difficult
Curse of the Whale
At the time of catch, +15% final weight, but two baits consumed once every two times
You start with +20% catch progression, but the fish panics faster
Combined with standard progression, the effective start hovers around 70%
Good to know
Beware of overlapping names: Sharp, Piercing and Vampiric also exist as Trinket Modifiers, with completely different effects and values. The Sharp enchantment increases your damage to NPC, the Sharp modifier gives +60 to Sword.
The system is taught and applied by the Dragon Talon Sage, and it affects Swords, Guns, and Fishing Rods.

Enchantments were released in Update 20. Update 24 renamed the Sea Blessing to Rot and remade the visuals for Blessings and Curses. Update 27.0 added fishing rod enchantments.
Curse of the Leviathan: the source adds a condition, the Spy must have been bribed for the Frozen Dimension to spawn as soon as you enter Sea Danger Level 6 after catching a Levi. Added by a Fandom content moderator, consistent with the Frozen Dimension page.
Curse of the Leviathan rewritten by the source: after catching a Levi, the Frozen Dimension spawns as soon as you sail into Sea Danger Level 6 (the previous version, boss reserved solo to whoever triggered it, is kept as history).
