The Skull Guitar (formerly Soul Guitar) is THE mythic gun of the 
Third Sea: crushing range, generous hitbox for a gun, and an [X] that heals you mid-fight. Its moves even hit 
Sea Events monsters. In exchange, its puzzle makes it the most painful firearm to unlock in the game.
How to get it
Level 2300+ required: complete the Skull Guitar puzzle (tied to the 
Full Moon, around 
Haunted Castle in Third Sea), then bring 
Bones, 
Ectoplasm, 
Dark Fragments, and 5,000 
Fragments to the 
Weird Machine to craft it.

The puzzle in brief
The puzzle requires a Full Moon (full moon in-game) and is currently the hardest gun to unlock without a guide. Plan a dedicated session, check the moon phase before starting, and keep a tutorial handy.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Crushing range and significantly better hitbox than other guns
- The [X] breaks Instinct and heals you continuously
- The [Z] pierces through walls with a hard stun
- All moves (M1 included) hit Sea Events
- Excellent combo starter
- The hardest gun to obtain: level 2300, puzzle, and materials
- Slow projectiles, dodgeable with Instinct
- The [Z] almost never breaks Instinct
- Huge visual effects that also hinder your own aim
Our take
The reward is worth the puzzle: built-in healing, record range, and guaranteed damage, both in farming and PvP. If you're level 2300+, it's one of the best investments in the Third Sea.
