Energy

Mechanic

Energy is a fundamental resource in Blox Fruits: almost all your actions consume it, from moves to dashes to dodges, Air Jumps, and Flash Steps. Empty gauge: no way to dash or use certain moves until it recharges.

How to get it

Nothing to unlock - your max energy depends directly on your Melee stat. Each point invested adds 5 Energy, and you start the game with 100 Energy.

How it works

  • Energy is used to perform moves, dodges, Air Jumps, Flash Steps, and most of the game's essential actions.
  • When your gauge drops to zero, you must wait for it to refill: you can't dash or use certain moves until then.
  • Your gauge is the blue bar below the green health bar (next to it on mobile), in the format current energy / max capacity.
  • If a move requires more energy than you have left, the message "Low energy! [move cost] energy required." appears and the move doesn't execute.

The formula

Total energy is calculated as follows:

Energy = 5 x (S + 19)

where S = your Melee stat points. Each Melee point adds 5 Energy, and at Melee level 1 (or when first joining the game) you have 100 Energy.

Max energy and bonuses

With all your points in Melee, your base energy caps at 5 x Melee points + 95. You can then boost it further:

BonusEnergy gain
Kitsune Ribbon (accessory)+2 500
Race Awakening form+1 585

The absolute maximum in the game combines all Melee points, Kitsune Ribbon, and race Awakening.

Regeneration

Energy regeneration scales with your stats - the higher your energy stat, the faster the gauge refills. And it recharges 2x faster on the ground than in the air.

What consumes energy (and what doesn't)

Good to know

  • With Instinct (and Instinct V2), you can see the energy bar of other players and enemies.
  • The Masterpiece enchantment removes the energy cost of attacks from the object it's placed on.
  • Completely emptying your gauge gives you the "Empty Vessel" title (#067). Phoenix's [X] is the most efficient move to empty your gauge quickly.
