Experience

Mechanic

Experience, abbreviated as EXP or XP, measures your progression toward the next level in Blox Fruits. Each level up gives you three stat points and sometimes unlocks content. It comes from enemies, bosses, Raid Bosses, quests, and fishing, and all these gains can be doubled by an EXP Boost. It takes you up to level 2800; the next 200 levels, up to 3000, are Update 30's Secret Levels, which do not go through EXP.

How to get it

Five sources listed by the Fandom: Enemies, Bosses, Raid Bosses, Quests, and Fishing. In practice, quests remain the royal road, fishing is the most efficient alternative, and kills alone weigh almost nothing.

Since Update 30, there is a sixth path that does not go through EXP: the Secret Levels, earned by completing the First Sea Island Secrets. They are the only way to climb past 2800.

XP sources in detail

  • Quests. They almost always give you enough to level up completely at once. Most require you to defeat 5 to 9 normal enemies, usually 8, or a boss. Each quest has a minimum level to be accepted, and the higher the quest level, the more it rewards.
  • Combat. Killing an enemy or boss drops a small amount of XP and Beli. It's negligible compared to other methods, unless the enemy is well above your level.
  • Raid Bosses. In some cases, you receive levels directly, without going through XP. Order gives you for example 3 at once.
  • Prayer. Praying at the Gravestone of the Third Sea has a 49% chance to bless you with XP. You can find it at Haunted Castle, near cemeteries where Reborn Skeletons hang out.
  • Fishing. Each successful catch gives you 25% of your current level, meaning one complete level every four catches. It's excellent for leveling up fast. Warning: a Soggy Boot gives nothing.
  • Secret Levels (Update 30). Each Island Secret completed in the First Sea grants 5 full levels and raises your cap by 5, with no XP at all: 40 secrets, 200 levels, from 2800 to 3000. Awakened Bosses are part of them. Details on the Secret Levels page.

EXP Boosts

Any XP gain can be doubled by an EXP Boost. Each boost lasts a given amount of time, then disappears.

DurationPriceShop Note
15 minutes25 Robux
1 hour99 Robux
6 hours450 Robux
12 hours850 Robux"Most Popular"
24 hours1,499 Robux"Best Value"

Rules to know:

  • Boosts stack in duration, not in power: two combined boosts give you more time, never a higher multiplier. It's always x2, regardless of the source.
  • They are purchased in the shop or obtained through codes.
  • New with Update 30: the Awakened Boss Gacha, the free roll you receive for beating an awakened boss, can drop a 15 minute 2x EXP, redeemed immediately on rolling. Its durations stack like the others. The Experience page itself does not mention it yet, the information comes from the gacha page.
  • Source inconsistency: the text claims that the most common duration is 20 minutes, but the shop price table does not offer any line at 20 minutes, the shortest being at 15 minutes. The 20-minute boosts probably come from codes rather than the shop, but the page does not say so explicitly.

Leveling numbers

MilestoneXP Required
Level 700 (access to Second Sea)3,320,000,000
Level 1500 (access to Third Sea)23,000,000,000 more
Total to reach 150026,320,000,000
Level 2800 (max level by grinding)143,840,871,332
Level 3000 (with all 40 Island Secrets)no XP: 200 Secret Levels
  • Through fishing alone, it takes approximately 11,196 catches to reach level 2800. This number aligns well with the 25% per catch rule: 2,800 levels x 4 catches equals 11,200. The page used to extend that count to 12,796 catches for level 3000; it dropped that line on 2 October 2026, which makes sense: the 200 levels past 2800 only come from Island Secrets, not from the fishing rod.
  • Source contradiction: the page gives two different formulas for the XP required per level. The first is a power law, XP(L) - 1.73 x L^1.726; the second is an exponential curve, 115.275 x 1.16771^x - 71. The two cannot describe the same progression, and the Fandom does not say which one is authoritative or to which version of the game each corresponds. Take them as approximations, not as official values.

Stacking multipliers

The Fandom lists the bonuses that can stack, using only a single Party Hat:

BonusAnnounced Value
Premium1.1
Party Hat or 50b Party Hat1.1
2x Exp2
Curse Of The Thief Enchantment2.5

The page adds these values to announce 6.7x, while itself specifying that this is not the actual gain: the effective bonus would be more on the order of 2.7x, since the starting 1 corresponds to the XP you already touch as a base. The Efficient 4 enchantment (1.6) is not counted in this total. Read it as an order of magnitude, not as a reliable calculation.

Good to know

  • XP is the most disproportionate quantity in the game: it easily reaches hundreds of millions for a single level, while other stats and currencies rarely exceed ten million.
  • Roblox Plus allows you to earn more XP per quest or per kill than a regular player.
  • Record cited by the page: it took Uzoth 7 minutes and 45.92 seconds to reach the max level of Update 20, namely 2550.
  • The mechanic has existed since Update 1, and its only purpose is to raise your Levels. At level 2800, you gain no more XP: the rest is played out in the Island Secrets.
