Mutations are alternative versions of existing
Blox Fruits: they change your appearance and, unlike
Skins, also modify the fruit's abilities. They are so different that you can see them as entirely separate fruits: unique acquisition and
Mastery not shared with the original fruit.
How to get it
- Event Bundles in the
Shop - Under trees during their event
- Via trading (they are special items)
- Limited event tasks, especially event Gacha (ex: the
Halloween Gacha for
Werewolf)
If you own the permanent version of the base fruit, you can buy its mutation anytime; only physical fruits are limited to events.
How It Works
- To equip a mutation: go to the Wardrobe section of your inventory with the corresponding fruit equipped, or through the permanent fruits shop (Mutations entry under the fruit description).
- Physical fruit: on first consumption, you only get the mutation, without being able to switch to the base version. After switching back to the original fruit, or if you own its permanent version, you can then freely switch between the two.
- The only mutation with a Skin is
Empyrean (same fruit, different color palette).
- Example: Werewolf, the mutation of
Tiger, released for the Halloween 2025 event (Hunter Bundle, Halloween Gacha, or 1,500 Robux if you already owned Tiger permanent). It is no longer obtainable today.
Good to Know
- A mutation does not share its Mastery with the original fruit: you must level it from scratch.
- Empyrean is impossible to obtain as a physical version through free means, except by trading with another player (source clarification of 19 September 2026): only its skin allowed it, and it was exceptionally rare and limited, making it one of the hardest things to legitimately obtain.
- Fun fact: in the early hours of the Halloween 2025 event, eating a physical Werewolf gave access to both Werewolf and Tiger. It was quickly fixed, but the affected players kept the ability to switch.
