Piranhas are level 2000 enemies that surge from the water to bite your boat and bite you. Each of their touches temporarily cuts off your dash, jump, and skills, making them hellish out at sea. They target the player as a priority, they're faster than the fastest of boats, and above all they are immune to M1s from fighting styles and swords. The community ranks them the second most annoying enemy in the game, just behind the
Terrorshark.
How to get it
Out at sea, between
Sea Danger Level 1 to 6 in
Third Sea, and also in
Second Sea. They can also appear while you're fighting another
Sea Event. They disappear on their own if they drift too far from their spawn point.

Their Behavior
- They leap out of the water to attack both your boat and you.
- Two forms of attack: the bite and the electric discharge.
- Being touched temporarily disables your dash, jump, and skills. That's what makes them so dangerous: you end up immobile in the middle of the sea.
- They target the player before the boat.
Elemental immunity works on them if you're a few levels above, but be careful: their electric discharges still pass through and damage Elemental fruit users.

Dodging Them Instead of Fighting
- Keep going straight: they eventually despawn after a few seconds. They'll gnaw on your boat a bit as you pass, but you get through.
- With the
Miracle, you literally take no damage: they bite too far back and their attacks don't reach the ship's hitbox. - The
Guardian also blocks them, thanks to its curved hitbox. The
Sloop gets the same result. - Just know they're among the fastest enemies in the game and can outrun the speediest boats.
Good to Know
- Impossible to M1 them with a sword or fighting style: they're immune to it. This is especially crippling for a Buddha-sword main, who finds themselves nearly without an answer.
- Before Update 24, any M1 could touch them. That update introduced the immunity.
- They can reach up to
The Sentinel and damage it, despite its altitude. - Known bug: they sometimes continue to damage your boat after their death. The community calls them "Phantom Piranhas".
Our take
The most annoying sea enemy in the game, but a reliable source of Electric Wings and Beli if you're well equipped.
