Stats

Mechanic

Stats are an essential mechanic that increases your overall power: health points, energy, and damage dealt. You distribute your points across five categories (Melee, Defense, Sword, Gun, Blox Fruit), but you can only max three of them: choosing them wisely is crucial.

How to get it

You gain 3 stat points with each level up, plus bonus points from the Mastery of your weapons and fruits. Stat Refunds let you reset everything to redistribute.

The five stats and their effects

StatEffect per point invested
Melee+0.5 damage on Fighting Styles and +5 Energy
Defense+5 Health (health points)
Sword+0.5 damage on Swords
Gun+0.5 damage on Guns
Blox Fruit+0.5 damage on Blox Fruits

On the damage side, there's a huge gap between a stat left untouched and one maxed out: a stat raised to 2800 points is 78.26x stronger than the same stat at zero (the wiki calculates 2800 x 0.02795).

The basic rules

  • With each level, you gain 3 stat points to spend freely.
  • You can only level up three of the five categories maximum, which equals the current max level: 2800, or 3000 once you have completed all Update 30 Island Secrets.
  • If you have a Race Awakening, the transformation gives you max stats on ALL stats for its duration.
  • During certain temporary events, damage stats can be adjusted to NPC level to keep the game balanced. This only affects PvE: against players, nothing changes.

How to distribute your points

Since you can only max three categories out of five, focus on Melee (energy and Fighting Styles damage) and Defense (health), plus a damage stat of your choice; otherwise you'll be at a disadvantage in combat, whether in health, energy, or damage. The recommended order: max your main damage stat first, then Defense, and save Melee for last.

  • A melee main only needs to max Melee before Defense, then can max Sword as his main ability if he continues with Buddha for farming.
  • Without Buddha, aim for Blox Fruit instead for farming.
  • Gun is rarely recommended for raw damage. However, a very skilled max-level player can really make use of it in PvP.

  • Sword Main: max sword damage and huge PvP advantage for an agile and experienced player, but slower progression in PvE and Raids. A profile mostly seen late game, often paired with an Elemental fruit for mobility, essential for sword users; thanks to this agility Sword Mains often outpace Fruit Mains, and their skill ceiling is very high.
  • Gun Main: very effective in PvE and formidable in PvP with timing and aim, but extremely rare and demanding. In Raids guns are little use: they hit hard but have few moves and limited area of effect. Like Sword Mains, they need support (fruit or sword) to land their difficult-to-hit shots. You need a good gun (Dragonstorm, Acidum Rifle, Serpent Bow, Kabucha for combos, or Skull Guitar whose puzzle requires level 2300) and a stun fruit like Ice or Rumble. Overall not recommended: it requires a lot of prediction and aim.
  • Fruit Main: advantage in all areas with a good fruit played well. It's the best profile for Raids thanks to the large number of attacks, often AoE, and the simplest to play: unlike the others, it doesn't need support from another weapon if you don't like combos.
  • Hybrid: more versatile, at the cost of less damage, health, or energy. Four possible distributions: Fruit - Sword, Fruit - Gun, Sword - Gun, or (least recommended) equal sharing between Fruit, Sword, and Gun. On two damage stats: main one maxed and 2000 points on the other; on three: 2000 on the main, 1600 on the secondary, 1200 on the tertiary. Kitsune Ribbon is strongly recommended for its energy boost.
  • Glass Cannon: energy preserved but very low health; the Leviathan Shield (+1000 Health) compensates. Recommended during farming toward max level, with a focus on Melee or Blox Fruits. Very risky in PvP, but if your health isn't too low, it can improve oneshot combos.
  • DPS: health preserved but low energy; the Kitsune Ribbon (+2500 Energy) compensates. Same uses and same risks as Glass Cannon.

  • Melee Main is the king profile of early game: max melee damage, maximum possible energy, big PvE and Raids advantage, so much faster progression. Often played with an Elemental or Buddha for mobility.
  • Sword Main and Gun Main at this level sacrifice Melee for their damage: their energy becomes much lower, that's the price to pay.
  • Hybrid at 780 across the board is not recommended mid-game: it assumes a weapon with max Mastery, whose +205 bonus points complete the base (1095 + 205 = 1300).
  • 3 even stats aims for three equal stats: versatile, and about 2500 energy is enough. Little recommended before max level (especially as melee main), but more optimal than Hybrid if you must choose between the two.
  • High-Tank DPS banks on survival when you need to tank: health climbs at the cost of energy, and sometimes damage. Kitsune Ribbon (+2500 Energy) compensates for energy, Dojo Belt (16% Melee damage) and Dark Coat (15% Blox Fruit damage) compensate for damage. Risky in PvP, but if energy and damage don't drop too low, it can improve oneshot combos.

Refunds: resetting your stats

Stat Refunds reset all your stats and return all your points for redistribution. You can get them:

Mastery and bonus stat points

Mastery is an EXP counter specific to each weapon and fruit: it goes up to 600 by defeating enemies with the item in question, and it's kept permanently, even if you sell and rebuy the item. The EXP needed to level up Mastery follows the formula: rounded up from (Mastery level^2.26 + 69).

Increasing Mastery boosts the weapon or fruit's damage and unlocks its attacks. Depending on your level, it also gives bonus stat points, spent automatically in Sword, Gun, or Blox Fruit, via the formula: (Mastery level / 4) + [player level x (Mastery level / 600) x 0.1].

Good to know

  • The maximum bonus points is 430 (Mastery 600 on a weapon + level 2800): a stat can thus climb to 2800 + 430 = 3230 points total.
  • Maxing a weapon or fruit's Mastery requires 348,679,674 Mastery EXP: it's very long, even with 2x Mastery. The halfway point sits between levels 485 and 486.
  • The small box in the top right of the interface lets you spend multiple points at once (default value: 1), handy when you gain multiple levels in a row.
  • Typing "inf" or a number larger than your available points (like 9999) in this box dumps all your remaining points at once into the selected stat, never exceeding the maximum of 2800.
  • Trinkets (picked up in Dungeon Raids or bought from the Trinket Expert) also add stat points depending on the ones you equip, two at most; three identical trinkets fuse into one of a higher Grade. See the Trinkets page.
  • Stats have existed since January 16, 2019.
