Good to know

  • The Leviathan Shield, the Dark Coat and the Royal Nimbus are the only three Mythical accessories you can get without going through a game event.
  • It is the only Mythical craftable with Materials, and the only one you can land through the Sea Events.
  • It is also the only accessory in the game that reduces water damage.
  • It was the best pick for very defensive builds for a long time. The source now considers it outclassed by the Headband (Black) in that role.
  • Added to the game in Update 20.

Strengths and weaknesses

  • Very solid all round defense against Melee, Swords and Guns
  • Fearsome during Sea Events, with a dedicated +30% defense
  • Huge resistance to water damage: about 55 seconds of survival at sea for a non Shark, against 5 without it
  • The biggest Health bonus of every accessory: +1000
  • Very useful against the Leviathan itself, whose attacks tend to throw you into the water
  • Extremely hard to get: 2 Leviathans, 5 players, 12,000 Fragments and event materials
  • The water protection is useless to Shark players, even though they still enjoy the health and the damage reduction
  • No speed bonus, which makes the character feel heavy: the Rabbit and Ghoul races can make up for it
  • No defense against Blox Fruits, which makes it almost useless against a Fruit main, Dough first of all
  • No damage bonus

Our take

Perfect for tanking the Leviathan who loves throwing you in the water; no defense against Blox Fruits and no damage bonus.
