Red Legionnaires land during the raid on the Spirit Tree of the
Celestial Domain. They lack
Aura and ultimately deal relatively low damage for their level, but they appear clustered together and can repeatedly use the same ability up to seven times in a row - it's the constant harassment that makes the fight tedious, not their damage output.
How to get it
They arrive during a raid on the Spirit Tree of the Celestial Domain, accessible from any sea. They don't use Aura and fight using Awakened fruit abilities.
Warning - the source contradicts itself on their level: the infobox states Lv. 3000, while the page text states Lv. 5000. We don't have enough information to determine which is correct.
How they behave
- They appear very close together, which makes them far more dangerous as a group than individually.
- They're unique in that they can chain nearly the same ability seven times in rapid succession.
- They don't use Aura - so standard Aura-based immunities are not bypassed on that front.
- Unlike Red Infantries, they attack players and not the Spirit Tree.
The abilities they use
The source specifies this is a non-exhaustive list of Awakened fruit abilities.
| Fruit | Moves used |
|---|---|
| old [Z], [C], and [V] | |
| old [Z], [X], and [V] | |
| [Z], [C], and [V] | |
| [X] and [C] in non-nerfed version, plus [V] | |
| [X], [C], and [V] |
How to beat them
- Buddha [M1] spam works very well.
- Without a good stun, use the [M1] hit-dash technique.
- Attack from the air - since they repeat their moves, especially avoid Quake's [C] whose massive knockback wastes tons of time.
Dragonstorm's [M1] are very effective.- Those spamming Light's [C] often become invisible. Very annoying, but they remain perfectly vulnerable.
Good to know
- Along with
Rip Legionnaires, they're the only enemies capable of overlapping their abilities, and the first
NPCs to double jump after God's Guards. - Despite their very high level, their abilities deal relatively low damage.
- They use Dark's [C] Endless Hole but never sustain the ability.
- They can cast Quake's [V], but the tsunamis never appear.
- Buddha variants can't use any other abilities, and they're larger than a Buddha player.
- The old Flame [V] sometimes behaves erratically - it disappears, becomes huge, loses its red fire wind, or disintegrates.
- Red Infantries and
Oni Soldiers share exactly the same avatar model.
Our take
Tedious raid enemies rather than dangerous ones - they repeat their abilities in loops and constantly push you back. Stay airborne, avoid Quake's [C], and spam Buddha or Dragonstorm.
