Kitsune Shrine

Activity

The Kitsune Shrine is the altar of Kitsune Island - a rock engraved with the silhouette of the transformed Kitsune. When activated, the Full Moon turns into a Blue Moon for 5 minutes, and you offer Azure Embers to the sanctuary to try to obtain exclusive items... up to the physical Kitsune Fruit.

How to get it

The sanctuary is located on Kitsune Island and targets players level 1500+. To make the island appear, get to Sea Danger Level 6 just before the Full Moon - that's where spawn chances are best. A trick that works well: stay on a rock far from your ship to prevent marine events from spawning, then get back on board just before nightfall.

Event Progression

When you touch the rock, a cinematic shows a bright blue ray shooting from the center of Kitsune Island while Azure Embers scatter, and the Full Moon becomes a Blue Moon for 5 minutes. During this time:

The rock to touch to trigger the event
  • Azure Embers appear every 30 seconds in groups of 2 to 5, around you, and follow you at a distance.
An Azure Ember following you at a distance
  • You can offer your embers to the sanctuary at any moment during the event, then continue collecting more if time remains.
  • At 55 seconds before the end, the message "The Blue Moon is beginning to fade..." appears; when the timer reaches zero ("The Blue Moon fades away..."), you can't interact with the shrine or collect embers.

Offerings

When you offer, ALL your Azure Embers go at once, and the larger the offering, the better your chances of getting a rare item. Two limits to know:

The shrine where you offer your Azure Embers
  • You can't carry more than 25 Azure Embers.
  • Below 10, the sanctuary refuses: "The Shrine is displeased with your offering".

Rewards

You receive one item per offering, drawn from your tier's list:

Embers OfferedPossible Rewards
10 to 14Beli, Fragments
15 to 25750 Fragments, Aura Color Kitsune (No. 17), Title Tailed Beast (No. 180), Fox Lamp, Kitsune Mask, Kitsune Ribbon, Physical Kitsune Fruit (0.1%)

Tips for Catching Embers

  • Embers spawn in the direction your avatar is facing: position yourself facing the sea to prepare. Even better: after interacting with the shrine, move toward the sea and only then press "Touch Statue" - the embers will appear above the water instead of getting stuck in the island's scenery.
  • Flash Step collects them instantly (Kitsune Ribbon and Human V2 reduce its cooldown); Lightning's F move works the same way, but if you miss it teleports you behind the ember.
  • Best forms for chasing them: Eagle, Gas, Yeti, Mammoth, Buddha, T-Rex, Phoenix, Kitsune, Awakened Ice, or Dragon (West) transformed, dashing repeatedly. Kitsune is probably the best choice: big enough to grab everything without getting stuck, faster, and can run on water once transformed.
  • Combat style-wise, Death Step, Godhuman, Dragon Talon, and Electric Claw are the most effective thanks to their dashes. Rabbit's Race Awakening boosts speed further, and the Pilot Helmet (speed) or Shark Tooth Necklace/Dino Hood (dash distance) pair well with Awakened Buddha or Ice. Awakened Phoenix also does well with its dashes.
  • Awakened Ice and Magma walk on water: pull the embers toward the sea, they drop to water level and you just run through them.
  • Portal has two uses: its TAP moves to catch them, and its V (Dimensional Rift) where embers spawn directly on the ground. Avoid its Z and F, which often teleport you in front of the ember and make it change direction.
  • Love and Spirit are poor options (flight too slow); Yama, with its two mobility moves without teleportation, chases embers better than the Cursed Dual Katana.
  • No need to aim for 25: offering 15 embers gives nearly identical chances to a larger offering, and you still have time left to collect 15 more.

Good to Know

  • The shrine event continues even when the Full Moon ends, like a Race Awakening trial; the Blue Moon is the only true marker of the start and end.
  • Each player has their own Azure Embers: no one can collect the ones that spawned for you.
  • Even if you don't win anything, the game displays "The shrine is pleased with your offering"; and sometimes it displays nothing at all even though you actually received an item.
  • You can only offer your embers during the Blue Moon: after that, the shrine won't respond.

Our take

The must-do on Kitsune Island: aim for at least 10 to 15 Azure Embers per offering to make the Blue Moon worthwhile.
