The Megalo's
Coat is the coat you bring back from the Mysterious Key island secret, at
Prison, in the
First Sea.
Uncommon rarity, five bonuses: +25% Movement Speed, +100
Health, +100
Energy, +15%
Sea Event damage, and +5% overall damage. It arrived with Update 30 and took the place of the
Pink Coat, the old coat that
Swan used to drop. It is often the first accessory players get, and the +25% speed helps whatever your build.
How to get it
It is obtained at Prison (First Sea), by completing the Mysterious Key island secret. It is not a boss drop: nobody drops it, you go and get it.
- Go to the
Warden's area: above and behind him, a balcony with a key on the ground. Pick it up. - Head to the central building. Go up to the top floor and unlock the gate with the key.
- Go up again and try to steal the coat sitting on the chair.
- A hostile NPC appears: it is the
Megalo Guard, a level 250 boss. Beat it. - Interact with the coat once more to claim it.
The coat's own page describes the same steps with other landmarks: a key "near an outpost", behind the Warden, and a locked doorway "on the second floor of the watchtower". Both versions come from the same source, cross-check on site.
Equipment bonuses

| Bonus | Value |
|---|---|
| Movement Speed | +25% |

Five bonuses, two of them offensive and working with any weapon. Nothing that requires a particular build.
Why You See It So Often in First Sea
Despite very modest offensive bonuses, this coat is widely worn by players in First Sea and the early
Second Sea. The reason comes down to one number: the +25% Movement Speed.
Add to that a very simple reason: it is often the first accessory that players obtain, which largely explains its apparent popularity.
The Coat That Replaced the Pink Coat
Before Update 30, Prison had Swan as its boss, and he dropped the Pink Coat: +10% Gun damage and +200 Health, nothing else. Swan was removed with the Prison rework, and the secret's coat took his place in the same setting.
For two and a half weeks, the source described this new coat on the Pink Coat page, with the new bonuses. On 22 September 2026, it split the two apart: the Megalo's Coat got its own page, and the Pink Coat is marked as removed from the game.
One leftover from that period is still around: the page listing island secrets still announces a "Pink Coat" at the end of the Mysterious Key secret. It is the same coat.
Trivia
- If you already have the coat and take it from the chair again, the game answers: "You took the coat, but you already have one".
- The +15% Sea Event damage bonus is useless as long as you stay in First Sea: according to the Sea Events page, those events only happen in Second and
Third Sea. It only matters once you have moved on. - Its in-game image is still Dagfin's cape, a leftover from the rework.
Strengths and weaknesses
- +25% Movement Speed, useful whatever your build
- +100 Health and +100 Energy, valuable when your bars are still short
- +15% Sea Event damage and +5% overall damage, with no weapon requirement
- Reward of a Prison island secret in the First Sea, so accessible very early and without drop farming
- The +15% damage only applies to sea events, so nothing in PvP or against bosses
- The +5% overall damage stays very modest next to rarer accessories
- Quickly replaced as soon as better accessories drop
- You have to beat a level 250 boss to claim it, which locks out low-level players
Our take
An excellent first accessory whatever your build: the +25% Movement Speed changes how comfortable you feel moving around, and the +100 Health acts as a safety net in First Sea. The +15% Sea Event damage keeps it useful for longer, but replace it as soon as you find something better.
