Jaw Shield Blox Fruits: bonuses and how to obtain

Jaw Shield - a very well-rounded accessory for Melee: +12.5% Melee damage, +50% speed, +10% defense against Melee, +500 energy, and +250 HP. Highly appreciated by Buddha players, especially in Buddha versus Buddha duels.

How to get it

Complete 5 Player Hunter quests, then talk to Tacomura at Castle on the Sea (Third Sea) to obtain it.

Good to know

The boss Captain Elephant visually wears the Jaw Shield, but he does not drop it on death and gets no bonus from it.
Some players find the description misleading, since the item only covers the head and not the whole body. The +10% Melee defense still proves them partly right.
Since Update 29, it is the accessory with the biggest Melee damage boost in the game, because the Dojo Belt (Black) bonuses were readjusted.
Added to the game in Update 15.

Strengths and weaknesses

Huge mobility gain: +50% movement speed
A decent damage AND defense boost on the same accessory, which is rare
Excellent for Buddha players, precisely because of that damage plus defense combo, and especially useful in Buddha versus Buddha duels
Since Update 29, the best Melee damage bonus in the game

Clearly less interesting if you mostly play Blox Fruits, Swords or Guns: the damage bonus only applies to Melee

Excellent for a Melee or Buddha main; somewhat less relevant in Fruit, Sword, or Gun builds.
