Trick or Treating

Activity

Trick or Treating is a limited-time mechanic from the Halloween Event 2025 (released with Update 28), active during the Harvest Moon and now concluded. The principle: you knock on doors located outside buildings to collect Candy Corns, with behind each door either a generous treat, a tricky trap... or outright the Unbound Werewolf.

How to get it

Halloween 2025 seasonal event, in all seas: each session lasted 10 minutes and returned every hour at XX:00 (UTC), announced by the message "The harvest moon appears. It's time to trick-or-treat!" (which, unlike most system messages, left no trace in the chat). You then just had to interact with the doors outside buildings.

The treats: free candy

Most doors hide an NPC who gives you Candy Corns directly, asking nothing in return. The rarer the door, the bigger the haul:

Fun detail: after each treat, the NPC performs a Griddy-style dance animation (except inanimate ones, Stone Mygame43, and the Dog House).

The tricks: nasty surprises

Other doors send you a wave of 4 enemies, and each defeated enemy drops Candy Corns:

DoorSummonsPer EnemyTotal
Cursed Skeleton4 Cursed Skeletons312
Necromancer4 Vampires624
Gorilla King4 Gorillas832
Red Commander4 Oni Soldiers1144
Rip Commander4 Celestial Soldiers1144
Yeti4 Snowmen1248

Aside from the special cases below, tricks yield far fewer Candy Corns than treats: if you hit a low-yield door, simply walk away (beyond a certain distance, you can knock on another door).

Special doors: rip_return and Death - Suizei

  • rip_return: busy fishing, he lets you choose. With "TRICK OR TREAT!", he summons 10 Candyfish that each drop 1 Candy Corn when you collect them... except some can explode and deal heavy damage. With "[Ignore rip_return]", two possible outcomes: "watch closely" (you end up trapped in ice then launched into the air) or "pvp? i'll take ur bounty kid" (the boss rip_return spawns). This door yields 50 Candy Corns.
  • Death - Suizei: the two buddies offer to double (Death) or triple (Suizei) your candy. Give to Death summons 3 Vampires (75 Candy Corns total), give to Suizei summons 6 (150 total), each defeated Vampire dropping 25 Candy Corns. If you walk away during their dialogue, choose "Nevermind", or transform into something huge (like Awakened Buddha), they sigh "Oh... nevermind I guess".

The Unbound Werewolf

A special door teleports you to the Observatory, where a cinematic shows the Unbound Werewolf howling. Defeating this raid boss yields 400 Candy Corns and a Candy Concoction potion, and the fight can be done with multiple players simultaneously. The room remains accessible by returning to the door where you knocked (recognizable by its portal effect), and an indicator with the Werewolf mutation icon appears near the recommended quest compass to guide you to the room.

Where to farm?

The Second Sea has more doors than the Third Sea, so more Candy Corns per hour... but its houses aren't in Safe Zones, so PvP is possible. In the Third Sea, all houses where you can knock are in Safe Zones: more peaceful. Last trap: servers stuck on version 28.05 didn't launch the event at all, so switch servers if you're farming Candy Corns.

Return announced for Halloween 2026

The Blox Bulletin 025, published on October 17, 2026 on the official blog, announces that the doors come back with the Harvest Moon for Halloween 2026, with the usual visitors and new encounters. It also mentions doors surrounded by flames, behind which waits a towering creature wreathed in fire, presented as more dangerous than last year's Unbound Werewolf. The tables above describe the 2025 edition: they will be updated once the update is live and documented.

Our take

The best way to farm Candy Corns during Halloween, especially in the Second Sea if PvP risk doesn't scare you.
