Dragon Hunter Blox Fruits: Craft, Hunt and Gacha

The Dragon Hunter is the crafting NPC of the Dragon Dojo, on Hydra Island in Third Sea. He's the one who distributes the Blaze Ember hunting quests, crafts items related to Dragon Talon (Dragonheart, Dragonstorm, Volcanic Magnet), and manages the gacha for Mythical Dragon fruit skin recipes. He won't talk to you if you haven't proven yourself at the dojo.

How to get it

You can find him at the Dragon Dojo, on Hydra Island (Third Sea). He was added with Update 24.

Access Requirements

To use it normally:

Dragon Talon with at least 500 Mastery
The Yellow Belt quest from the Dojo Trainer (Water Warrior) completed

To unlock the Gacha option in addition:

The Dragon fruit equipped
The Black Belt quest from the Dojo Trainer (Ryu to Ittai) completed

If you talk to him without the Yellow Belt, he'll turn you away. Two of the three crafts are also locked behind Red Belt status.

Crafting

The Crafting option opens a menu similar to the Shark Hunter's, with three craftable items.

Choosing the recipe after the Craft option: Dragonheart, Dragonstorm or Volcanic Magnet.

Two of these three recipes require the Red Belt: Dragonheart and Dragonstorm, whose pages each say the recipe unlocks with the Dojo Belt (Red). That leaves the Volcanic Magnet, which does not need it.

Hunt: Farming Blaze Embers

The Hunt option gives you a random quest to complete on Hydra Island:

Hunt three Hydra Enforcers
Hunt three Venomous Assailants
Destroy 10 Trees

Each Hydra Enforcer or Venomous Assailant killed spawns a Blaze Ember, which behaves like an Azure Ember. Once the quest is done, the game prompts you to return to the dojo to pick up another: these quests are infinite, you'll never run out.

The end-of-quest message: head back to the dojo to pick up another one.

Watch out if you already have a quest in progress: choosing Hunt abandons it, and the NPC will warn you in red before confirming.

Gacha: Dragon Skin Recipes

The Dragon Hunter's Gacha, like the Barista's, replaces the old Hoops. It unlocks the crafting of a random Mythical Dragon skin recipe, for either Dragon East or Dragon West.

Each pull costs:

1 Dragon Egg
15 Dinosaur Bones
15 Blaze Ember

If you own the permanent Dragon, there are four possible outcomes:

Frostbite Skin (Mythical) for Dragon East
Frostbite Skin (Mythical) for Dragon West
Emerald Skin (Mythical) for Dragon East
Emerald Skin (Mythical) for Dragon West

These recipes are then crafted at the Barista, for Berries and Fragments. You can't pull a duplicate: once all four are obtained, the crafting option disappears.

Tips

On the quest to destroy 10 trees, Blaze Embers don't drop consistently: chance could have all three Embers appear on the last tree you break. The bamboo on the island counts as trees.
Buddha is excellent for collecting Blaze Embers - his huge hitbox does the work on its own.
For breaking trees, prefer Skull Guitar or Bazooka: their M1 knocks them down much more easily.
The Gacha option only appears once you've unlocked Black Belt.
