Temple of Time

How to get it

Interact with the Mysterious Force at the top of the Great Tree: it sends you to the temple. To open the trials room, you'll then need the Blue Gear, which you can get on Mirage Island.

Obtaining the Blue Gear

The Blue Gear is the key to everything else. Here's how to get it:

1. Talk to the Sealed King again.
2. Climb one of the highest peaks on Mirage Island.
3. Activate your race's V3 while looking at the moon, with a Mirror Fractal in your inventory. The message "Your Mirror Fractal has resonated with the moon." confirms it worked.
4. Then look for the Blue Gear on Mirage Island: it appears at specific locations, listed on the island's page.

Useful note: a full moon is not necessary, even though the Sealed King's dialogue mentions one.

The lever and the secret door

Once you have the Blue Gear, go into the left hallway of the temple: the lever is located above the hallway entrance, inside, on the left. Pull it, and a secret door opens at the far end of the same hallway, on the right: this is the entrance to the Race Awakening trials.

If you pull the lever without the Blue Gear, the game displays "You lack the strength to move it!". And if you enter the room without pulling the lever, you get "You are not strong enough to be here." after a few steps, then you're teleported back to the entrance room if you persist.

The Ancient One and the Ancient Clock

• The Ancient One is the central NPC in the Race Awakening process: you consult with them at each step.
• Going to the right from the Ancient One, you reach a very long staircase. As long as you haven't completed a trial, it teleports you back after a few meters, making it impossible to reach the top. The top leads to the Ancient Clock.
• If you approach the walls of the Ancient Clock without having "accomplished something great", or while recovering a gear, you're sent back to the temple entrance.
• You can still obtain the Ancient Clock by completing a challenge to get a gear, or by having them all. The Fandom notes that the Red Gear and Blue Gear both have Tier 2.
• Once your race is maxed out, or past a certain point, you can come back to see the Ancient Clock whenever you want.

Atmosphere and trivia

• The music of the place is called Hypnotical Suspense (APM music). It's also heard in Arowe's chamber and at the Secret Temple.
• All sounds you make in the temple have a reverb effect.
• Before, the secret room door displayed a countdown saying "Coming soon", which suggested that Race V4 would unlock when this message disappeared.
• If you exit the temple via a glitch and fall to the side, you land in Sea Danger Level 4.
• The temple arrived with Update 17.3.

Known glitches

The Fandom lists four, worth knowing just to understand what's happening to you:

• Slayer of Goliath (Cursed Dual Katana) or forced climbing in the Ancient Clock staircase: a dialogue appears, "Are you sure you wish to leave? You cannot come back without passing the trials again.", with a choice between "Yes" and "Nevermind". To reproduce it, switch to first-person view and use Slayer of Goliath after the fourth pillar of the staircase.
• Entering just before a trial starts: the game lets you in, but you can't attack any player currently passing the trial.
• Fox Lamp [X] in front of or next to a trial door: the move expels you outside the temple.
• Sanguine Art [Z] from the inner ledge surrounding the curved glass ceiling: you can pass through the glass and end up outside.
