Sharkman Teacher

How to get it

Two locations: in front of a house on Forgotten Island (Second Sea), and in the building near the portals at Castle on the Sea (Third Sea).

What he sells and at what price

He teaches you Sharkman Karate, provided you meet the following four requirements at the same time:

The key alone is not enough, nor is the Mastery: you need all four.

The Water Key trap

As long as you haven't turned in the Water Key to the Sharkman Teacher, it remains fragile: a death or character reset will cause you to lose it, and you must farm it again from the Tide Keeper. Once the key is delivered, the risk disappears. If you just picked it up, go turn it in before doing anything else.

He's the only fighting style instructor who doesn't give you the usual phrase "It seems you already know this style. Would you like to start using it again?" when you come back to him knowing the style already. Instead, he explicitly directs you to his master on Submerged Island to progress further, because the v2 progression of Sharkman Karate goes through the Sharkman Master.

Good to know

• Along with the Mad Scientist, he's the only fighting style NPC to have a narrative background, and he has the longest dialogue of all the instructors.
• He arrived with Update 27.2, which replaced Daigrock, the Sharkman: skill visuals were reworked, M1 nerfed, and v2 progression was added through the Sharkman Master.

• The source dates the NPC's first appearance to Update 14, in the guise of Daigrock.
• He also exists as an enemy: in the Dungeons, the Sharkman Teacher shows up as an opponent on one of the floors, among the enemies exclusive to that mode (the Sharkman Master is there too, as a boss).
