The Sharkman Master is the
Third Sea NPC who improves the
Sharkman Karate fighting style. He sells nothing - you must defeat him in
Fish Fights to take his headbands, ranging from white to black, and each headband unlocks the improvement of a move. You need level 2200 and 500
Mastery before you can even start, and losing a Fish Fight costs up to 40 minutes of waiting.
How to get it
He is found inside the
Sealed Cavern, near the
Coral Pirates, behind a house. He was added in Update 27.2, then moved to the Sealed Cavern in Update 27.3, when he gained his improvement function.
The three improvements
You need a minimum of 500 Mastery in Sharkman Karate, and must have completed a certain number of Fish Fights.
| Move | Headband Required | Cost | What It Changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Z | 2,000 | Your Z chains with a shark launched in pursuit that always hits. | |
| X | 3,000 Fragments | You can move and drag the X's trap bubble while holding the move, and it follows your cursor or finger. | |
| C | 5,000 Fragments | Your C grants you an additional temporary defense bonus of 35%, indicated by a band of water spinning around you. |
The Fish Fights
To start playing against the Sharkman Master, you must first reach level 2200 and have 500 Mastery. You must then defeat him in Fish Fights to obtain the headbands, which range from white to black, each unlocking the improvement of a Sharkman Karate move depending on the headband you wear.
If you fail, you must wait up to 40 minutes before you can try again.
Note: the Fandom mentions a range of headbands from white to black, but only details the conditions for three of them (yellow, blue, black). A purple headband round is also mentioned elsewhere on the page.
Training Tips
- On PC, use the spacebar instead of left-click: the delay is lower.
- To get critical hits more regularly, hold M1 and release when the cursor reaches the green bar.
- Play on a server with good ping to reduce the latency between your action and when it registers.
- Practice against other players or on easier headbands before attempting the Headband (Black): it requires a near-perfect critical rate and perfect dodges. With a perfect critical rate, a single perfect dodge is enough.
- Work on your reaction speed multiple times before attempting the Headband (Black).
- A private server with low ping and low resolution is ideal.
- Aim for high framerate, between 120 and 240 FPS: the reaction window is better and the game smoother. Be careful though, very high FPS can increase your ping. The good balance is maximum FPS without degrading your connection, with about 120 FPS and 50 ms ping as a reference.
Things to Know
- He is the second NPC in the game capable of improving a V2 fighting style, after
Uzoth. - The
Deepglow Oarfish appears in the purple headband round as a fish used by the Sharkman Master: it is his only use in the game. - At Dungeon Level 2, and sometimes at one of the floors leading to
Zero, both he and the
Sharkman Teacher appear with the updated Sharkman Karate, with the Master using the improved version.
