Water Kung Fu (formerly Fishman Karate) is THE reference farming style of V1: M1s without end-lag that chain infinitely, AoE everywhere, low knockback and excellent synergy with
Buddha. Since the
Sharkman Karate rework, it likely remains better than it for grinding. In PvP however, it's too slow.
How to get it
From the
Water Kung Fu Teacher for 750,000 Beli, with no
Mastery requirement. He has a counter on every sea:
Underwater City in the
First Sea,
Hot and Cold (hot side) in the
Second Sea and
Castle on the Sea in the
Third Sea. Level it up then: 300+ Mastery required for
Superhuman, 400+ to upgrade it to Sharkman Karate (Second/Third Sea).
Moveset
| Key | Move | Preview | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| M1 | Aqua Flurry | Rapid water-soaked punches chained continuously: no downtime after the fourth hit, you can hammer infinitely without pause. One of the best farming M1s in the game. | |
| Z | Steam-Charged Fist Mas. 70 |
You project a blue ring that releases steam and pushes back touched targets. Simple and effective for keeping a group at distance. | |
| X | Deadly Shower Mas. 130 |
You spray rapid water projectiles from your hands, for decent damage. Requires good aim to get the most out of it. | |
| C | Heavy Water Punch Mas. 250 |
You charge water then throw a powerful punch towards your cursor, with high knockback. Can also serve as a movement move, though it's not the most effective in the game. |
Strengths and weaknesses
- M1 without end-lag: infinite chaining
- Excellent for farming: AoE on the entire kit and low knockback
- Very good with Buddha and strongly recommended in First Sea
- All moves hit
Sea Beasts - Since the Sharkman Karate rework, likely better than it for grinding
- Too slow for PvP: its successor Sharkman Karate is much better there
- Short range on part of the kit, you need to predict movements
- Relatively expensive for a First Sea player (the price of
Instinct) - Some moves deal no damage in Buddha transformation (V2)
Our take
Buy it as soon as possible in First Sea: it's the best farm investment of V1 styles. Level it to 400 to unlock Sharkman Karate when you move to PvP.
