Twin Hooks

SwordUncommon

Twin Hooks, twin hooks "forged with the power of a beast", are an anomaly - an Uncommon rarity for a Third Sea sword. Don't be deceived: their [X] Prehistoric Punt hooks onto enemies to extend otherwise impossible combos, and the moveset resembles the TTK or CDK in an accessible form.

How to get it

Drops from Captain Elephant, the boss of Floating Turtle, in Third Sea.

Moveset

KeyMovePreviewDescription
M1 Normal Attack Four consecutive slashes with both hooks at good speed.
Z Sky Cyclone
Mas. 150
You swing your hooks to create a brief red wind cyclone at your cursor - it damages nearby enemies and slams them downward, while slightly launching those on the ground. Very fast startup.
cooldown 9s · energy 20
X Prehistoric Punt
Mas. 300
You throw your hooks connected by ropes, with slight auto-aim - if you hook an enemy, you pull yourself toward them while a spectral mammoth head emerges and catapults them into the air. Very similar to Mammoth's [X].
cooldown 14s · energy 30

Strengths and weaknesses

  • The [X] hooks onto enemies - a formidable combo extender
  • The [X]'s mammoth head can hit multiple targets, even though the initial grab only takes one
  • High damage and good attack speed
  • Fast startup on both moves
  • Both moves hit Sea Beasts
  • Good alternative to the TTK and CDK thanks to a similar moveset
  • The [Z] Sky Cyclone drains several Instinct dodges, without breaking it
  • Pairs well with Portal and Electric Claw in combos
  • Difficult to master - moves are hard to land
  • Heavy end-lag on the [X] if you miss, a bit on the [Z] too
  • Short range on both moves
  • The [X] doesn't work under low ceilings (Cake Queen room, for example)
  • Cannot hit Blade users

Our take

PvE6/10
PvP7/10

Floating Turtle's pleasant surprise - for a mere Uncommon, it rivals much rarer swords in combo potential. If you don't have the TTK or CDK yet, it's an excellent secondary weapon - provided you accept its steep learning curve.

Update history

Sword : Twin Hooks·Released : Update 15

  1. Update 30 9 octobre 2026 Adjustment
    • The source refines the [X] Prehistoric Punt: the initial grab only takes one target but the mammoth head can hit several, and missing the move leaves heavy end-lag (a bit on the [Z] too). This entry takes both points on.

    See update 30

  2. Update 30 18 septembre 2026 Adjustment
    • The source adds two strengths: the [Z] Sky Cyclone drains several Instinct dodges (without breaking it, as the move box already said), and the sword pairs well with Portal and Electric Claw in combos. This entry takes them on.

    See update 30
