Bobby was a level 55 boss from
Pirate Village, in the
First Sea, and one of the very first that new players encountered. This clown-nosed pirate combined the
Cutlass and the
Chop fruit, with a one-in-four chance of completely ignoring sword attacks. He was removed from the game at Update 26 and replaced by
Chef, which explains the past tense throughout this entry.
How to get it
Bobby stood at the Pirate Village, in the house with white stairs, the one that housed a chest. A boss of level 55, he respawned 5 minutes after his death. Since Update 26, it is the Chef who occupies that place.
What it drops
- 250-300 Beli
- 900-1,100 EXP
- 1,375
Bounty/Honor

His Quest
The
Pirate Adventurer gave the level 55 quest consisting of defeating Bobby.
- Reward : 8,000 Beli and 45,000 EXP
To which was added 1,375 Bounty or Honor points at the moment of the kill, in addition to the Beli and EXP dropped.
His Two Attacks
| Ability | What it did |
|---|---|
| Air Slash | He slashed the air and sent a short-range wind blade that hit everything in its path and pushed back |
| Dance | He separated his entire body except for the torso and head, inflicting small damage and stunning everyone in a circular radius around him |
He used a skill from the old Cutlass and the [X] of the Chop fruit. Another characteristic: he was immune to sword attacks one out of four times. Before Update 17.3, he was completely invulnerable to them.
How to Defeat Him
- Hit and run : dodge an attack, land an M1, dash before the counterattack. Done properly, you could chain hits without ever getting hit. Just watch your energy - no energy means no dodge.
- His house wall : position yourself behind it and hit him through it. He could still touch you with Air Slash and Dance, but you had time to regenerate between hits.
- The roof : climb onto a building and spam attacks. Same logic - Air Slash would go through but gave you breathing room.
- The most effective method, according to the source: hit him, run inside the building where he spawns, then hit him through the walls. You could also trap him on the ledge with the railing, behind the diamond chest, and shoot at him from a distance out of reach of his moves.
- Exploit his large hitbox : long-range attacks aimed themselves, and the further away you were, the easier Air Slash was to dodge.
Fighting styles remained very effective up close.
Trivia
- A golden chest was located in the building where he spawned.
- Bobby was one of the three bosses to use unavailable fruit skills, along with
Stone and the
Kilo Admiral. - At Update 1, he was called Bobby the Clown. The name was shortened for copyright reasons.
- Full look: clown nose, blue hair, crossed-bone tattoo across the face, two scars over the eyes, orange pirate hat, green and white striped shirt, red gloves, white pants with a blue belt, black shoes, and a red scarf adorned with a green gem set in yellow.

Our take
An introductory boss of the First Sea, designed to learn dodging and very easy to cheese through a wall. He no longer exists since Update 26 - if you're looking for a level 55 boss at Pirate Village today, you'll find Chef instead.
