The Cutlass is often the very first sword that players buy (along with the
Katana). Cheap and simple to get the hang of, it remains slow and uninspiring - it becomes almost obsolete after the first 200 levels.
How to get it
Buy the Cutlass for 1,000 Beli from the
Sword Dealer at the
Pirate/
Marine Starter spawn (
First Sea).

Strengths and weaknesses
- Perfect for beginners, especially without a
Blox Fruit - Minimal price (1,000 Beli) and almost no
Mastery - Both moves hit in an area
- Its weak damage makes it a good tool for leveling
Aura
- Very low damage and mediocre range
- Doesn't break
Instinct, easy to dodge - Unreasonably expensive upgrade: Angel Wings (
Upper Skylands, level 450+) - Quickly outclassed - replace after a few hundred levels
Our take
PvE2/10
PvP1/10
A backup sword for your very first levels, nothing more. Replace it as soon as possible, and definitely don't invest in upgrading it.
