Phoeyu, the Reformed

How to get it

Two possible locations:

• in the library of Ice Castle (Second Sea);
• in a room near the Portals at Castle on the Sea (Third Sea).

To open the library, you need the Library Key, obtained from the Awakened Ice Admiral. Once you have the key, you cross the door leading to the library: the door disappears and Phoeyu appears.

Learning Death Step

Requirement	Detail
5,000 Fragments	Paid to Phoeyu
2,500,000 Beli	Paid to Phoeyu
400 Mastery	On Dark Step

Death Step is the evolution of Dark Step: hence the Mastery requirement on the starting style.

The Library Key trap

• As long as you haven't unlocked the library with the key, you cannot learn Death Step. And that applies even if you go talk to Phoeyu in the Third Sea: unlocking the Second Sea location unlocks both.

• You can enter without the key thanks to the Flash Step glitch, but it's useless for the purchase: without the door actually unlocked by the Library Key, the sale remains blocked.
• In other words, the only reliable path is to defeat the Awakened Ice Admiral to get the Library Key.

Good to know

• The NPC's skin is inspired by Phoeyu, also known by the pseudonym Phoeating, developer of the game Grand Piece Online.
• Phoeyu once had an area that only admins could summon, the Phoeyu Dimension, which has since become the Pocket Dimension.
• Flavor detail: before you approach him, the NPC looks at the library.

• The NPC arrived with Update 13.
• Minor source inconsistency to note: the name is spelled Phoeyu in the text, but Phoenyu in several image filenames on the page. It's still the same character.
