Parlus in Blox Fruits: Black Cape for 50,000 Beli

Parlus is a merchant NPC hidden in a watchtower at Marine Fortress, in the First Sea. He sells only one item: the Black Cape for 50,000 Beli at level 50 and above. The character is mainly known for his sales pitch: he swears he bought the cape for 100,000 Robux from a kid who promised it boosts attack. Since Update 30, he is also the NPC of two island secrets, Raise the Flag and Pirate Raid.

How to get it

On the right side of Marine Fortress (First Sea), in the watchtower topped with a silver chest. When you enter the tower, you encounter a pit accessible from the front: you need to drop through the hole at the top of the tower to land near him.

In other words: he's reselling you a cape for 50,000 Beli that he claims to have paid 100,000 Robux for, on a stranger's word, and he's in a hurry.

His role in the island secrets (Update 30)

Since Update 30, Parlus is no longer just a cape merchant: two of Marine Fortress's three secrets go through him.

Raise the Flag. Upon landing at the docks, turn right and head up the watchtower: Parlus asks you for rope to hang up his flag. It is found on the leftmost part of the island as seen from the dock, near a small trade stand and a Chief Petty Officer. Bring it to the flagpole next to the Marine quest giver: a mini-game starts, where you must stay in a circle to pull the flag up while cannons fire at you.

Pirate Raid. After some time spent on the island, the chat announces "Enemy ships are closing in on the Marine Fortress!". Go back to Parlus: a new dialogue option appears. Pick it, pirate brigades spawn offshore, and you use the fort's turrets to shoot down every ship. Two messages drop at the end: "The raiders have been repelled! The Marine Fortress stands." then "(your username) drove the pirate brigade off the fortress!".

Tip from the source for the raid: with the Creation fruit, build temporary structures around the docks to stop the pirate ships from getting close enough to target the cannons; without that fruit, a large boat such as a Grand Brigade positioned in the right spot does the same job.

The island's third secret, Awakened Vice Admiral, does not involve him. Each secret grants 5 secret levels (keep talking to the NPC without leaving the game if he only gives you 2, it is a known bug), and completing all three makes Marine Fortress a destination of the Middle Town teleporter.

Good to know

Don't take his sales pitch seriously: nothing in the source confirms the Black Cape boosts anything. It's an NPC line, not a stat.
The Black Cape model was revamped in Update 30.
Appearance-wise, Parlus wears a copper-colored coat open over his abs, black pants, neatly styled hair with a rebellious strand in front, and holds his right hand behind his head.
He's been in the game since Update 1.
