How They Fight

They wield the Dual Katana but use none of its moves: only standard sword strikes. They deal 95 damage per hit, and 108 on the third hit of the combo.

Note on the numbers: the source provides two different sets. Its text announces 95 per hit and 108 on the third, which corresponds to its base attack value (97.3), whereas its stats box displays 68.9 in damage. Both values come from the same sheet; they simply measure different things.

Farming Strategy

• They are arranged in pairs, well-spaced from one another: this is what makes them easy to clear without getting surrounded.
• If grinding becomes tedious, switch to hit and run: group the four closest Chief Petty Officers together, hit them all with one M1, then dash before they react.
• This technique is less efficient on them than on a boss, but it remains faster than other methods.

Good to Know

• What they look like: black hair, Serious Scar Face face, and Marine uniform.
• Beware of homonymy: Chief Petty Officer is also a Marine rank in the Bounty and Honor System, unrelated to this enemy.
• They have been in the game since Update 1.
