Elite Pirates

How to get it

Go talk to the Elite Hunter, in front of the Castle on the Sea palace in the Third Sea: he tells you which island the current Elite Pirate is on, as long as it hasn't already been defeated. There is no prerequisite other than access to the Third Sea, but you must land the final blow to claim the rewards.

The Three Elite Pirates

The game has three: Deandre, Diablo, and Urban. The next one appears 8 minutes and 45 seconds after the previous one is defeated. If a Tyrant of the Skies is summoned on the server, it can be defeated instead, as an Elite Pirate.

The Elite Hunter's Quest

If another player defeats the Elite before you while you have the quest, it is cancelled with the message Quest cancelled. Elite killed by another player.

• Hunter Cape or Bandanna, in black, red, or green
• God's Chalice

For Yama, the source clarifies that 30 is not a strict condition: it is the number that guarantees you can obtain the sword. The Elite Hunter's page, however, mentions rather 20 to 30 quests.

Where They Appear

Only one Elite Pirate at a time per server, on one of these islands:

The detailed location breakdown from the Fandom:

• Port Town: behind the hill near Stone's spawn, opposite the docks

• Hydra Island: in the area facing Castle on the Sea, near the Dragon Crew Quest, on the hill above the Hydra Enforcers, near the arena rocks, and to the left of the waterfall

• Great Tree: on the hill all the way to the right, near the Marine Commodore's spawn on a sloped hill, and on the hill all the way to the left

• Floating Turtle: on the hill behind and to the right of the Mansion, behind Captain Elephant's spawn in the plains, behind the Musketeer Pirates and in front of the Barista Cousin, near the Jungle Pirates, near the Deep Forest Area 2 quest giver and the Musketeer Hat location, on the hill in front of the Longma room, and in the center of the island on the hill with a circular summit above the Fishman Captains

The quest can also send you to Tiki Outpost, renamed Liberation of Tiki Outpost when a Tyrant of the Skies is active. Note that the page's infobox only lists four islands and omits this one.

Good to Know

• Only one Elite Pirate can exist at a time on a server
• They never disappear on their own
• Only the player who lands the final blow gets the rewards
• They are good for leveling Mastery: easy to find and generous with EXP, even if it's still challenging when you first arrive in the Third Sea
• It is one of the three ways to obtain God's Chalice, and the most efficient
• Buddha is recommended to defeat them quickly, without needing to change fruits if you don't want to

Did You Know

• Along with the Player Hunter, it is one of the only two ways to obtain Yama
• You can hit them without Aura by using a Fighting Style
• Instinct makes locating them much easier
• A private server is recommended to farm them peacefully
• Love's [F] can grab them and take them as far as you want without making them disappear
• Urban sometimes gets stuck in place if you move away during the charge animation of Rumble's old awakened [V], now Lightning
