Trainees are Level 5
Marine recruits who patrol the
Marine Starter in
First Sea. With 100 HP, no weapon, and only basic Martial Arts combat, they form along with the
Bandits the very first obstacle in the game, and also the easiest: the Fandom describes them as the simplest enemies to kill, and they share exactly the same appearance and statistics as the Bandits. Seven of them roam around the
Quest Giver, with a respawn of 8 seconds.
How to get it
At the Marine Starter (First Sea), right next to the Quest Giver. There are 7 of them on site and they respawn 8 seconds after death.
What it drops
- ~40 Beli
- ~40 EXP

The
Marine Leader Quest
| Giver | Required Level | Objective | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marine Leader | Lv. 0 | 5 Trainees | 350 Beli and 300 EXP |
Solo kills only yield about 40 Beli and 40 EXP: as everywhere in the game, it's the quest that pays, not the mob. Note that the quest can be accepted starting at Lv. 0 while Trainees themselves are fixed at Lv. 5.
How to Farm Them
- Any player with a
Cutlass or
Katana, a ranged attack, or a
Blox Fruit with a stat of 4 or higher can take them down easily. - The [Z] of the Katana or Cutlass is used to pull them toward you before attacking.
- Group them up and then hit with AoE: this is what changes your farming pace the most.
- An Elemental Fruit is the best choice to farm them in loops, and the Fandom particularly mentions Ice,
Light, and
Magma.
Trivia
- Trainees and Bandits are the two first enemies you encounter in the game, and the easiest to kill.
- They are also the only two enemies in the game whose Elemental immunity tier (Lv. 2) is lower than their own level (Lv. 5). Everywhere else, you need to level above the enemy to be immune.
- They have no special moves: only Martial Arts M1 attacks, with no particular mobility.
- Appearance-wise: black hair, standard marine outfit, and the Roblox "Serious Scar Face" face.
